I'm an orthopaedic surgeon; I've written a book on "Outwitting Back Pain" which rose to #500 on the Amazon Best Seller list in 2004. Ironically, I developed severe spinal stenosis at L4-5 documented on an MRI s a which showed that the CSF [cerebro-spinal fluid] could barely pass the severely constricted nerve roots there. It also showed advanced facet joint arthritis at the same level. I had unremitting intense bilateral radicular [nerve root] pain radiating from my back to my toes. I also had marked stiffness when attempting to bend over. I saw Dr. Tait. He injected autologous [my own blood] platelet-rich plasma, using ultrasound guidance, bilaterally at L3-4, L4-5, and L5-S1. He also injected placental stem cells, also using ultrasound guidance, at the L5-S1 level, aimed proximally toward L4-5. As an aside, although he told me the injections would be painful, his technique was so good that I didn't feel a thing! He also told me that I wouldn't;t really see much improvement until about 4 months had passed--but that he had had people my age [mid-80s] and even older have relief for at least 1-3 years. Ten minutes after the injections, as I walked out to my car--I was allowed to drive--ALL of my bilateral radicular pain was COMPLETELY gone!!! I was so excited about that that I dropped some of the papers his office had given me. I bent over and picked them up--and realized that I did it like a 20-year-old...with no pain or stiffness for the first time in years! I have remained completely and totally pain free and stiffness free from that moment until now, 4.5 months later!!! He was superb, and I cannot recommend him highly enough!

I have had an arthritic right knee from an old hockey injury and didn’t feel it was bad enough to do a knee replacement that my other orthopedics were recommending. A year ago Dr Tait did stem cell on that knee and it allowed me to continue playing highly competitive softball. Last week my team won the 65 and over World Championship in Las Vegas and I’m running bases and playing the infield like I did in my 40’s thanks to the treatments I receive at Origen Orthopedics!

I’m only 24 hours post PRP in my knee, but so far so good. I actually came back from México and almost opted to have the procedure there as it was much cheaper and everyone spoke well of that doctor. I spent a good amount of time looking at the centrifuge machine they had down there and asking a lot of questions about the procedure, concentration of platelets etc. They don’t do the ultrasound guidance and their centrifuge machine was far inferior to the one Dr Tait uses. So I decided to use Dr Tait even though it was a real press on my finances to do it with him. He knows what he is doing and uses the best possible procedure from everything I’ve learned, and read and researched…I’m a researcher of note! And it takes a lot to impress and convince me. I hope this decision will pay off well that I have invested in my health! We have choices in health care… I think this one may be a very good one! Mobility is a terrible thing to give up at barely age 60! I think this is the best use of money and time to continue living my best life! time will tell!
