My experience with Ricardo at Elevate has been nothing short of an amazing process. Ricardo has been extremely insightful, informative, and most importantly caring. He never rushes through appointments and gives thoughtful thorough answers to any questions I may have. His schedule is extremely flexible throughout the week to get you in for appointments, and I really enjoy that he offers in-office and virtual visits rather than solely telehealth. I don’t think I can imagine a more smooth experience than the one I’ve had with Ricardo Gutierrez at the Coconut Grove location genuinely! The front desk staff are also super awesome and always helpful! Needed my pharmacy location switched at nearly 6 PM and they had it updated in under 10 min which I did not expect. Highly recommend.

Was a potential new client. Called today to find out information about a suitable therapist, on 1/30/2026. Whoever answers the front ask phone needs some serious customer service training. They have no idea what each therapist offers, they put me on hold without telling me they are going to, speaking over me and giving me attitude on how to pronounce words in Spanish when i speak english. Very disappointed. Please do better. I asked my husband to call because when you are dealing with patients, especially mental health, you need to be trained and appropropriately. There is no intake form beforehand, they don't try to "match" your needs to a specific therapist. Front desk informed me that Jessica Van Schaick, PA-C, does not perform
CBT, DBT, and EMDR, yet it CLEARLY states that under her bio on the website. Front desk personnel is first impression, hopefully this is something that can be improved. They just want you to book online and not bother them with a call was my impression.
Dr. Julian Ariza, who is currently with Elevate Psychiatry, refused to fill my prescription for an antidepressant that I have been taking for over 10 years. During our last online telemedicine appointment, I mentioned that I wanted to wean off the medication but changed my mind the next day, realizing it wasn't the right time to stop. One month later I messaged him through their portal to inform him of my decision and requested a refill.
However, he refused to provide it, stating that I needed to set up another telemedicine appointment with him first. I found this completely unreasonable. There was no reason he couldn't call in the refill; it is ultimately my decision whether to stay on the medication or not. I explained that I am currently between jobs and wanted to avoid paying the $30 copay, but he was indifferent and insisted that I schedule another telemedicine call.
This approach seemed more about collecting his office visit fee from my insurance company than genuinely helping me avoid additional costs. As a result, I will no longer be seeing him. He comes off as one of those doctors who prioritize profit over patient care. I strongly advise others to stay away!

I completed TMS therapy at Elevate today. To say it helped would be an understatement. It has truly been a life changer. My therapy required me to go to their offices for treatment. The staff is really great. Special thanks to Vivanee, the TMS medical assistant, who was always friendly and upbeat. She feels like a member of my family! Thank you Elevate for all that you do!!!

As a long-term patient of Elevate Psychiatry, I feel deeply disappointed and unsafe after being denied appropriate clinical support during an acute mental health crisis.
Despite more than a year under the care of the same provider, I was refused a temporary medical leave note—even after reporting a severe relapse of anxiety symptoms that clearly prevented me from functioning at work.
Instead of offering continuity of care or documentation to protect my employment, I was advised to “go to the emergency room.” This response reflects a troubling lack of empathy, clinical judgment, and ethical duty toward a patient in crisis who sought help responsibly through the proper channel.
A psychiatric clinic should be a place of stability and compassion, not administrative avoidance. Patients should not be left unprotected, without documentation, and emotionally destabilized after asking for help.
Elevate Psychiatry owes an explanation to every patient who places their mental health and trust in its hands.
