Before ABBC converted to The Remedy, it was an awesome clinic - very helpful, kind, intelligent staff, technicians, nurses, and psychiatrists. Once The Remedy took over, the clinic significantly went downhill in regards to patient customer service.
When you call for anyone/anything, you have to go through an awful call center. There is no way to contact your caregiver(s) without going through the call center. A lot of the call center staff have no idea how to properly help or who to properly transfer you to. They miss handle documents/information frequently and/or do not have a good filing system and/or do not have a good internal communication system. They lack compassion and overall knowledge of the mentally ill patients that are coming to them for their services.
Here are a couple of events I personally had to deal with:
1. It took me 4+ times requesting a refill of essential medication I needed before I just gave up and went without it. I only got it refilled upon my next appointment with my psychiatrist.
2. I needed my medical records sent to my work for a medical leave of absence. I had to call/email The Remedy medical center record department nearly daily only for them to sent the incorrect/insufficient paperwork to my work. This lead to months of me being unpaid and me having to appeal my medical leave claim at work, and I had to do it all myself while having a mental health crisis. I had to have my TMS technician physically print off all my medical records and I had to send them in by snail mail in order for my documents to be received by my work. It took me months to get the pay I needed because they couldn’t gather information that was clearly listed out for them to provide my work.
3. The call people say they will leave a message for the appropriate caregiver/department, but they either don’t or the message is not delivered correctly. I tried to set up a payment plan with them over the phone preemptively, but they still kept calling me saying they didn’t have anything documented about me doing that. They continued to send me bills in the mail, by email, and phone calls even though I had already set this up with one of the call center employees.
I could name a lot more examples of the sort, but I’ll leave it at that.
Just to clarify, this has nothing to do with the in-clinic staff - they are all still amazing and kind. This is 100% The Remedy and their lack of knowledge about people with mental illness regarding depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, etc, etc, etc… A lot of us suffering with mental illnesses or neurodivergence struggle to make a simple phone call, only trust our care team, don’t know how to “properly” communicate or advocate for ourselves, and need simple communication methods with our caregivers. I can only hope The Remedy figures out a better way to support their patients but for now, I would NOT recommend The Remedy if you are in need of mental health services - especially if your mental health support needs are extremely necessary for daily life/functioning.

Dr. Johns is 10 stars. Wonderful!! I highly recommend this doctor. He’s friendly, easy going yet knowledgeable, on the cutting edge and not afraid to consider various other ideas you come up with.
One star off because
1) The websites (main and secondary??) look very pretty BUT they are hard to read and navigate.
2) It is hard to get through to a doctor when you need to.

I have met with Dr. Brian Johns five times so far. I switched to him because I was dissatisfied with my prior psychologist. Really like Dr. John’s, super knowledgeable, professional and easy to talk to. I like to do a lot of research on my own and my prior provider was dismissive of my ideas and was always rushed. In contrast, Dr. Johns listened attentatively to me, was open minded, and took into account my questions and ideas. He was insightful and I gained a better understanding of my condition than I ever had before. He offered me a range of treatment options to choose from. I had been suffering from major depression for about a year before seeing him and had tried several medications my prior provider prescribed, none of which helped much. Within a few weeks of starting with Dr. John’s I was on the road to recovery and my depression was gone within about 6 weeks. My experience with Dr. John’s was life changing and I highly recommend him!
