I went to All Star for quite a few years. I followed Dr Zed from Md Brain and Spine. I had one of his PA’s that wasn’t doing as I asked. I have had chronic pain with Fibro, back surgeries,Graves disease. I worked hard as a child till just a few years ago. He stood by his PA which he didn’t even want to hear what I said. Was actually rude by not even letting me speak. Well I continued to stay even though I was in pain.wanted to do shots, and more shots. He had two PA’s that were great!! They actually wanted to listen and help but for some reason they both left!! I saw in another post about how he Dr Zed wouldn’t listen. That upset me so when they called and told
Me I had to find another Pain Management I was like great since I wanted to check others out. I am happy with my new management office they actually listen to me.

I have been coming here for 3 years seeing DR Mata. DR Mata left the practice. I was scheduled to see Janet the NP. Now I see why she not a doctor. She is a terrible person. She uses her conservative views into the medical world. I sign a contact a year ago. I discharged myself and came back for management. This terrible Nurse P discharged me for legal substance. Anyone coming to All Star please don't not see this terrible person who will use her personal believes in the medical field. She actually needs to be hired. She needs to look herself in morning because she is a terrible Nurse. She perfers you to be in pain, she feels like she knows best and she not even a doctor.

Awesome experience all around. I have been a patient here for a number of years, and the care team's compassion and follow-through has been amazing. The providers have worked with me to manage various stages of pain, and spine/nerve injury providing lots of options, and creating a care plan to keep me in relative comfort. The support staff are fantastic at making sure you can get the appointments you need, remind you of them, and work to coordinate consults and procedures. Their staff have also worked with both my insurance, and pharmacy when there were issues obtaining various medications and procedures. I would absolutely recommend (and have recommended) this practice to anyone in need of their specialties.

I was going there for over 4 years. One day, I received a call that I was being discharged because of my urinalysis. I was told something showed up. I said, hold on, wait, let me take it again, something must be wrong. The tech said no and Janet was firm with her decision. I could not believe what I was hearing. I was very satisfied with the medication that I was getting and did not feel a need to take anything else. I often told Janet that I was thankful and satisfied for finally getting on meds that made a difference. I’m over 60 years old, still working and also have grands in my care. I didn’t have a reason to seek other drugs to take. Everything was fine. The most disappointing thing is, i thought Janet and I had a better relationship than to just dismiss me, like I was nothing. We talked every visit. I thought that she would have thought there must be something wrong. I wasn’t given a chance to talk to her or to get another test. I’d never had a bad test before in the years that I was there. Something should have told her that something must be wrong. I was with this office before they changed their name to All Star. Like I said, I was satisfied. My prescribed medication was allowing me to handle my daily tasks a lot better. I had no reason to try or take anything else. I thought we had a real doctor patient 😊relationship. Boy was I fooled. Also, I called and asked if she would reconsider and after being placed on hold, the receptionist said all discharges were final. I asked, well, what happens to me ? I never got a call back. Just that quick, I was discarded like old paperwork.

I have been going to this location for over 2 years now. 4 injections done by Dr. Zed pre and post surgery. His original nurse practitioner Alina Messick was kind, supportive, and helpful. She would spend 30-45 minutes just talking to me every appointment to see how things were going. Sadly she moved on from this practice. Enter Janet Ascione. Since the first appointment with her she has been very curt and pretty much rude at times. I have been on pain pills for almost 2 years. In those 2 years I have never had any incidents, never missed an appointment, nothing. Since day 1 Janet treated me like and made me feel like I was abusing medication or something, mind you I'm prescribed a very minor 5mg/375mg hydrocodone/tylenol. In the 1.5 years before Janet I took 1 drug test because my insurance requested it, since Janet I believe I've taken 5 in the past 6 months. Today I was discharged because she asked me if I had prescriptions filled by any other physicians and I said no. She said they checked pharmacy records and I had a prescription filled a few weeks ago by another Dr. I said "oh yeah I had a tooth pulled and the dentist gave me a prescription for something, my wife picked it up from the pharmacy and it's in my medicine cabinet". It was a 3 day supply of 5mg/300mg hydrocodone/Tylenol, which is pretty standard issue after getting a tooth pulled. She proceeded to tell me that I violated my opioid agreement (that was signed 1.5 years ago) and that I also didn't mention the "surgery" when the intake girl asked, "any new x-rays, surgeries, mri's since your last visit?". I am treated here for my neck and when asked that question I think in terms of my neck and didn't realize I had to disclose having a tooth pulled. She proceeded to treat me like I was purposefully trying to hide this and began to scold and belittle me for it. I kept stating that I didn't realize it, didn't think about it, and even apologized for it. She continued to throw the fact that I signed an opioid agreement (1.5 years ago) in my face and that it was my job to know this and how this was grounds for discharge. At this point I very calmly told her that she was being very rude in the way she was talking to me, repeatedly telling me how wrong I was. As I was saying this she said "that's it we're done!". I asked what she meant and she said "I'm giving you a 2 week supply of meds and discharging you, and you can go find another Dr.". I asked to speak to Dr.Zed and she yelled "No, I'm discharging you!" She then asked me to still take another drug test to which I said I would. She then stormed out of the office and even closed the door in my face as I was right behind her walking out to go to the bathroom. I was so shocked by this whole exchange that I didn't even think to ask at the time why I even needed to bother to take a drug test when I was being discharged from their care.
I know this is a super long review but since I wasn't even afforded the opportunity to speak to MY Doctor, who performed 4 spinal injections on me, I am hoping he see's this and reaches out to me so we can talk. I also hope Janet Ascione see's this and thinks back on how she acted and realizes that it was very inappropriate. That is no way to act when you work in this type of field with people living in constant pain who obviously aren't living the best life at the moment.
Finally I hope prospective patients see this just so they can be informed of how they could possibly be treated. It's sad really. The office staff is very nice and helpful, Dr. Zed is a great Dr, and I absolutely loved Alina Messick. Janet Ascione does not fit in with the rest of the kind staff there, and sadly she is the one most patients will see 90% of the time. I hope she turns her attitude/behavior around before she drags down the rest of the practice
