Patient reviews

I've been a patient here for a little over two years, and I am so thankful to have found Sarah and her team. When I started my journey, I'd hit a wall with my doctors after struggling for most of my life with endometriosis and a body that was stressed out and exhausted from years of uphill battle compensating for all of the things that weren't being addressed adequately. I'd gained a significant amount of weight and was starting to get stuck in the cycle of adding medications to medications to deal with the side effects of the medications without really seeing my health improve. After a frustrating appointment with my doctor who blamed all of my issues on my weight (even though I'd had these issues before gaining weight), a friend from work gave me Sarah's information. I was admittedly a bit skeptical after a lifetime of being dismissed, but from the first conversation I had with Sarah, she actually listened to me and validated me. She never blamed any of this on my weight or on me for not taking good enough care of myself. She never shrugged and said "Oh well, it's part of being a woman. Take some ibuprofen and try these birth control pills." When we had my first lab review, and I cried through the results because the explanations for some of the most painful parts of my journey showed up in those labs, Sarah processed it with me, and then we got to work. With supplements, hormone balance, gut repair, and peptide therapy over the past couple of years, my body has truly transformed. I have more energy, am more active, and don't live with constant pain anymore. I've also lost the weight I gained while my body was struggling. I feel more at home in my body than I have in years. I still have a chronic condition that doesn't have a cure, but it's controlled now, instead of controlling me. What I didn't have before was a provider who is proactive instead of reactive, and I believe that's made all the difference. I've been able to take Sarah's recommendations at the pace that I was comfortable with, and she's never pushed or guilted me if I needed to think about a recommendation before acting on it. I do still have a tendency to just press on through the few rough patches that come up (which are admittedly mild compared to what I've dealt with in the past), and Erica reminded me at a recent visit that I don't need to do that anymore. I promise, I'll get better about calling for help for the acute stuff, too :) I'm glad this place has become a part of my journey and cannot thank Sarah and the team enough believing me and for taking amazing care of me.

After 8 years of several doctors and OBGYN telling me nothing was wrong, I came to Balanced Health with many concerns about my health......I thank god I did! After doing blood work and poop test Sarah found the issues and we got started on a plan. I am finally feeling like myself again and feeling healthier than ever. This journey is not a quick fix, it is a lifestyle change. I highly recommend Balanced Health and their team! I truly appreciate everything they have done for me!

I was a patient of Sarah’s at Balanced Health for several years and initially experienced thoughtful, supportive care that genuinely helped my health. It’s also worth noting- I spent thousands of dollars out of my own pocket because they don’t accept or file any insurance. Over the past year, however, my experience changed significantly. I was dismissed from the practice while actively following a supplement protocol they prescribed, involving many supplements and a substantial financial investment. This occurred after I requested to speak with a second nurse to clarify questions and side effects that had developed from the supplements over time. The dismissal felt abrupt and lacked appropriate discussion or transition, which raised concerns for me around communication, safety and continuity of care. Since then, I’ve spoken with others who describe similar dismissals, sadly suggesting this may reflect a broader shift in how patient relationships are handled as the practice has grown. This practice may still be a good fit for some, but I would encourage prospective patients to ask clear questions upfront about communication, access to providers, and how care transitions are handled so you won’t be blindsided like I was after spending thousands of dollars and then being dismissed.
