My review is coming from the perspective of a family member (wife) To a client receiving treatment for mental health at Camelback Recovery. If your goal is to hope that your significant other will enter treatment and give 110% during their 30 day inpatient treatment and the facility will work on how to bring your spouse, their children and loved ones Affected by their actions to end up in such a facility…. This is definitely not the place. This is our second time working with a treatment facility, (SPRC in 2020) and I can confidently say that the staff (Mandi, Sara) who I believe are a Clinical director and case worker, and therapist Allie of Camelback Recovery don’t know how to balance the client being the absolute priority but also having any empathy, compassion, or kindness for the family on the outside trying to support their loved one while in treatment. My husband is still currently receiving treatment, and hopefully he is having a better experience all around as that is the main goal, but again if you want to feel like you or your children are a factory in the recovery process that pertains to family …this is NOT the place. I have been lied to, I have had my words twisted by the therapist who has the worst case of mean girl complex I’ve ever encountered in a 15 minute phone call, and even if a full ROI is signed they will enjoy leaving you in the dark about your loved one. Please please do your research, hopeful be in a place with your loved one to make this decision together and ask all the questions. Mental Health and actions taken when a father or spouse is suffering is already heartbreaking on its own, it comes with a wave of hurt and sadness for every person in that home. So as proud and thankful we are that our loved one is getting help, we are devastated by the lack of, or really the existence of the family aspect that this treatment facility claims they understand is important. The research was not done enough On this facility, and that’s on us. But in a time of need and happy to find a place that accepted my husband’s insurance 100%. I’m sure the money sounds great for them and told him whatever he wanted to get him in the door. Hopefully the experience changes, and if it does I will be gladly to update my review.

I cannot say enough positive things about Camelback Recovery Center and, in particular, Shelly, who exemplifies what true dedication, compassion, and professionalism look like in mental health and recovery services. From start to finish, Shelly demonstrated an exceptional level of focus, commitment, and genuine care for both individuals and families navigating incredibly difficult moments. She doesn’t just do her job—she advocates, guides, and walks with you through every step of the process. Her attention to detail, responsiveness, and ability to explain complex situations with clarity and empathy made a world of difference. What truly sets Shelly apart is her unwavering dedication to helping people in the community. Whether someone is seeking mental health support, substance abuse recovery, or simply needs trusted guidance and direction, she meets them where they are—without judgment—and helps them move forward with confidence and dignity. Camelback Recovery Center as a whole is a top-tier facility, but professionals like Shelly elevate it to another level. Her passion, follow-through, and human-centered approach reflect the very best of what recovery and mental health care should be. I would wholeheartedly and without hesitation recommend Camelback Recovery Center to anyone in need of mental health services, substance abuse support, or even honest advice on next steps. If you’re fortunate enough to work with Shelly, you are truly in excellent hands. Thank you for the outstanding work you do and for making a real, lasting impact in people’s lives.

Addiction is mental health, and this clinic operates as such. It is immersive and intensive, and for someone who needed a complete and total reset in life, this clinic was EXACTLY what I needed. I also have OCD and I am blessed there happened to be ERP-certified therapists on staff. For the first time in 17 years, my therapist is actually trained to help me with this. Especially since it is very apparent (now) my OCD and my addiction are interrelated. There are a lot of negative stigmas in the recovery space, and I was lucky enough to mostly not find them here. The entire staff is surprisingly professional, the housing is amazing (with standards upheld), and transportation is provided if you're in the housing. You do need to advocate for yourself at every step, and this tends to throw people off, but isn't that the truth in all aspects of life? You get what you put into it. If you're actually serious about your recovery, be involved. You'll also need to keep your head down and focus on yourself, but this is true in recovery not just this clinic. One small negative is on the psych side you REALLY need to advocate for yourself. I worked heavily with my therapist to streamline my care with the psych side, but I learned a TON and I'm better for it. It is a business, but the staff actually cares. I found this place in last-minute desperation, but I simply would not be so at peace and successful in recovery right now if it weren't for my four months at Camelback. It was difficult, it was long, it was intense, and it worked. It was truly everything I was looking for, and it changed my life!
