I became a patient of Dr. Sims in 2022. I had spent thousands of dollars already trying to figure out why I felt so bad and why my hair was falling out amongst numerous serious but mysterious symptoms. All previous doctors either did not know what to make of my case or didn’t care to listen nor investigate. Then I was referred to Kourtney. I’ve never had a Dr. take an interest in me or my well being the way she has. After my first visit, I had hope. She actually listened to me. She believed how bad I felt and was dedicated to figuring out the root cause. Not only has she discovered numerous reasons behind why I have felt so bad over the years, but she genuinely remembers and cares each visit. Earlier this year, I had a stoke & was put into the hospital. I sent her a message through the portal just let her know. I couldn’t believe it when she herself called me multiple times within 24 hours until I was able to answer just to check on me and find out what was going on. She talked to me on a Saturday morning for at least 30 minutes. I had no appointment set with her, she just called. It was what a family member would do. When I got off the phone my parents sitting in the room with me said “that has to be the best doctor I’ve heard of”. I don’t even live in Texas anymore but I still choose to see her, she’s genuinely the only doctor I trust and she has improved my wellbeing and quality of life immensely. So grateful she does what she does and takes care of women & listens when it comes to their wellbeing! If you or any woman are considering becoming a patient of hers, I cannot recommend her enough! Today was my second virtual visit with Dr. Sims. She is an absolutely amazing person!!! She is passionate, energetic and knowledgeable. She's thorough and very meticulous about what strategy works for you individually and your available options. She listens, comforts and make recommendations accordingly. I am so appreciative to have found her and her awesome supportive staff. A very special thanks to all of you!! Keep doing what you do best! I look forward to meeting you all when I get to come in to the office. :)

I'm changing my review from 5 to 1 star. After three virtual visits and one in-person visit, I realize that I had every reason to be skeptical about the virtual platform. The portal and the website do not interface - I ended up overpaying $160 in "co-pay estimates" because of this problem. I was told multiple times that the "credit" would apply to future care, but that never happened. At my request, I was refunded when I left the practice. Crossroads is severely lacking in administrative staff. I agree with other reviewers (check yelp for real reviews) that the physical office is sketchy. The door was locked when I arrived, the inside is outdated. It was uncomfortable to be the only person in the office with the doctor. It is worth noting that I never would have written these reviews on my own. I was "asked" [told] by Crossroads to write a review in order to "end" my first virtual appointment. I had high hopes for this practice, but it was not the right fit for me. Original Post [I was skeptical about the mixed platform visits (virtual and in-person), but my virtual consultation was great. Dr. Sims is so personable! All of my questions were answered, and we decided on a wellness plan that I am very comfortable with. Definitely recommend!]

This practice operates out of its ability to make money off of its patients. They make you pay up front for your visit- and since I was a new patient, they notified me mere hours ahead of my appointment that I had to pay in full- which is $500 for a VIRTUAL visit. I would have canceled but if you do so under 24 hours you have to pay $100 anyway. Insane. I just needed my annual, but they make you have an extremely expensive 6 minute virtual visit first…to then the doctor told me that she isn’t looking to do annual visits anymore but will make an exception for me. She orders a bunch of lab tests then says I have to have a separate virtual visit to go over results THEN have my annual. I asked why go through all of that if we can code my annual visit to include both follow up and exam. Her response was “practices that do that are basically doing the service for free”. Just a really bad look. Only in it for the money. They also tell you to block two hours in case she is running late….for a 6 minute virtual visit, which is also terrible to overbook that bad and if I had to cancel get charged $100. I ended up waiting an hour to be seen…. Following my visit, since I clearly overpaid before my insurance kicked in- you are supposed to get a refund. However, I have left several messages in the portal and got no response. I called and was told I need to get them an EOB in order to move the process along to get my money back. That is NOT my job and it shouldn’t take this long to get the patient back their own money. Prior to the visit you get bombarded with calls/emails/forms/platforms to complete modules. Over information and over-complication which was also poorly put together. I got a bad feeling from the way this practice operates and now I know why. Do not recommend.
