I had FFS with Dr. Deschamps-Braly 8 months ago, a year into my transition, and the impact this surgery has had on my life is impossible to understate. Before FFS, I was almost never gendered correctly. After FFS, I almost always am. People see me as a woman, consistently and without hesitation, and that shift has changed nearly every daily interaction I have. Strangers approach me to ask if I am a model. The way people treat me now feels completely different and affirming in a way I had never experienced before. This surgery also changed how I see myself. For the first time in my life, I feel comfortable in my appearance. Because of that, I've become a cosplayer and a volunteer model. I've found entirely new hobbies and communities that I never would have felt comfortable exploring before. There is a very clear line between my life before FFS and my life after, and I would never go back. Dr. DB was my number one choice, and I am so glad I went with him. His team was consistently kind, professional, and supportive. During my consult, Dr. DB was genuinely excited to answer my many questions and dive into the details. It was clear that he has a deep passion for his work and for getting the best possible outcomes for his patients. I am incredibly grateful for this experience and for the life it has opened up for me.

I had FFS with Dr. Deschamps-Braly in September 2025 with the full array of procedures including forehead Type 3, brow lift, hairline reduction, rhinoplasty, lip lift, trachea shave, fat transfer, and jaw surgery.  I put my faith in him and his team because my extensive research showed they were simply the best at all levels from beginning to the end. Aesthetics and techniques. Artistry and surgical skill. Right brain and left brain. To be elite in any one area is rare let alone all of the above which clearly applies in this case. Aesthetically, he excels at bringing out your natural beauty. Medically, his surgical techniques are the most advanced available and lead to fully realized results with minimal scarring and quick recoveries. But beyond all the great photos in his groundbreaking book on the subject or that can be readily found online, you discover the results are not just measured in terms of pretty pictures but something far deeper and profound than that. If you’re like me, then you’ve lived a diminished life where your physical self doesn't line up with your internal identity. Post-surgery after seeing myself when the bandages finally came off, I felt a tremendous sense of well-being as my true self was revealed in the mirror. And these newfound feelings have been with me ever since. Finally I wish to thank the entire clinical team including Denise, Jack, Robin, Andy, Alita, and Jennifer each of whom helped me significantly through this process. It is truly impressive the high level of professionalism of the clinical team. Jennifer was my assigned overnight nurse during that first night, and I truly appreciate her support (literally) getting me walking through the night which ultimately helped set up a smooth recovery. Please know that I am forever grateful.

I'm 5 months out from my surgery and I'm so happy with the results! Dr. DB and his team are great and super easy to work with. I was very uncertain prior to my consultation but Dr. DB was super calm and assuring. I didn't feel pressured to get anything extra and he seemed to agree with me on what I already thought I needed which helped with my confidence. After meeting with him then and then prior to my surgery I had tons of confidence in him and wasn't worried in the slightest. He and his direct team and the nurse he had for immediate post-op made the process about as easy as it could be. He also has excellent tastes in cardigans 😊

What can I say, Dr. DB is a really good FFS surgeon! I had a great experience interacting with him and his staff (especially Jack and Andy 💖), and my results have been excellent. I feel SO much happier and more myself, and haven't been misgendered since having surgery, so wow I guess it worked! I'd highly recommend him if you have the option

TLDR: Dr D has changed my life in a way I never thought possible. I have a newfound love of existing that my dysphoria has taken away from me for so long. He and all his contributors are wonderful people who genuinely care about alleviating dysphoria and giving people a second chance. I love them all very much. Full Review: I have been transitioning for several years, a struggle that comes with things you can rush and things you cant. For the longest time, I spent every waking moment researching, talking to specialists, changing my diet, changing everything to help my dysphoria quiet down and be seen by the world as my own inner eyes saw myself. I had come really far and managed to help myself, but realistically, every time I looked in the mirror, I was unable to feel at home due to the pain of seeing a face not my own. After 2 years into transition and extensive research, I reached out to Dr. D and got on his waitlist. Dr.D was respected, preferred, and renowned with many years of practical experience. I had seen some people give some unbecoming accounts of their experiences, but despite that, my confidence was still on the side of giving it a try. I scheduled no other consults with any other surgeons. This is something I initially questioned, but in the end knew was the best choice I could have made. In a year, I finally made it to my consultation in SFO. Dr. D's office was so clean; it speaks silently both to the person who runs the clinic and the process of receiving this care. Both are surgical, exact, and steeped firmly in the art of aesthetic execution. I'll admit I was a bit nervous but my wife, at the time partner of 12 years, was with me, and we were both ushered into this space warmly by the same exuberant and friendly person who was there throughout my entire journey (for privacy, i wont be using specific names). We sat in a waiting room that was equal parts functional and decorated, and were then taken in to get some photos for presentation of my current face structure to accompany our conversation. Dr.D, in meeting him for the first time, was kind, professional, and exuded a genuine confidence in himself that immediately put me at ease. He went over my photos, my CT scan that I had taken previously in anticipation of the appointment, and we discussed what I would need. He wasn't pushy, did not try to offer me unnecessary things, and helped me set up a plan of procedures that were for me and my face to feminize it. At the end of this year, we returned to SF. We had a pre-op with Dr.D and his PA, a young woman who was such a pleasure to get to know and was just as knowledgeable as the Dr himself on this unique and specific set of procedures. We got all the info on pre-care, post-care, and what the process would look like. We also spoke with Dr.D to confirm what procedures I wanted (Scalp advancement, Type 3 Forehead, orbital shave, rhinoplasty, genionplasty, and mandible contouring, with a later in the year amendment to get a tracheal shave). The morning of, I was driven by someone from the clinic to the OR. The driver, like all other people involved in this process, was kind and calm. This human connection from our conversation brought my stress down and made me feel like any other sort of day, which was a touch of normalcy that made all the difference. In the OR, I got dressed, met one final time with the PAs, The anesthiologst, and Dr.D. I walked into the OR, hearing the Cure playing overhead, and commented to Dr.D, who smiled warmly when I asked about it. I am writing this review now, having completed FFS with DR.D as of a week ago. My experience with the Doctor, his PAs, and nurses directly before the surgery was comforting, filled with confidence, and brought much ease to a process that had been plaguing me for so long. Recovery is tough, the results are amazing, and I, for the first time in my life, feel like I want to live. I get teary-eyed writing this, but I will always remember this clinic, this Dr., and this experience. I could never repay them for what they have done for me.
