Dr Refresh Med Spa

I called in the late evening to reschedule an appointment because I wasn’t able to do it online. I had a hair appointment that took several hours and additional birthday obligations, and due to the location being in Hollywood, I realized it wasn’t somewhere I wanted to drive. I also want to note that when I purchased the Groupon, I wasn’t paying close attention and thought the location was Playa Vista, not West or North Hollywood. That part was my mistake. This would have been my first time visiting, despite receiving multiple texts and emails encouraging me to confirm my appointment and offering discounts. When I spoke with Neil, I explained that I didn’t want to go to that location and asked if there was another one I could visit instead. He began asking several questions, including where I was coming from, which felt unnecessary after I had already explained I was uncomfortable with the location, parking, and overall area. During the call, he abruptly said he would cancel the appointment and hung up on me. When I called back and asked to speak with a supervisor or manager, he stated that he was the manager. I calmly explained that I didn’t appreciate being hung up on. His response was that he didn’t like how I spoke to him and told me I could go somewhere else or come back another time. When I stated I would not be returning and would contact Groupon instead, he hung up on me again. This experience was extremely unprofessional and disappointing, especially as a first-time customer. I will not be using this location’s services and do not recommend it based on the way I was treated. After leaving a review yesterday, Neil—the individual who was extremely rude—told me he would cancel my appointment without any charge. I received an email confirming that my appointment was canceled. Today, I noticed a $100 charge on my credit card. When I called to ask why, Neil said, “Oh well, I was doing you a favor, but since you left a review that affected the business in a negative way, I decided to charge you $100.” He then changed his story and said the charge was because I “missed my appointment.” That makes absolutely no sense, considering I called the day before, explained everything, and the appointment was scheduled for today and already canceled by them. So to be clear: I was told there would be no charge, the appointment was canceled, and I was still charged $100—apparently in retaliation for leaving an honest review. I will not recommend this business to anyone, and I strongly advise people not to spend their money here or use coupons/Groupons with this business, as they do not honor their word and handle customers unprofessionally.

I love this spa!! I came in for a sauna and cold plunge session. I was a little nervous about the cold plunge as it was my first time doing it, but Chris coached me through the process by explaining the benefits of it, showing me breathing techniques, and helping me stay in control of my mind throughout the 3 minutes I was in the tub. I absolutely loved the cold plunge and can’t wait to do it again. I do recommend that you bring a swimsuit or some clothes that you don’t mind getting wet for the tub, and a change of clothes to change into once you’ve showered! In addition, the installations are pristine, beautiful and the building has parking included! I highly recommend this Med Spa and will be coming back!

I came in here on a whim as I was nearby and curious. I saw they did ice baths so I stopped in as I always wanted to do one. The staff is all very friendly and thorough. Chris is the one who ran the ice bath and walked me through the steps and was really supportive. Will absolutely come back. They offer a host of med spa type treatments but thus far I've just done the ice bath. The ambiance in the shop is also very welcoming and fun/different in a great way.
