Patient reviews

The treatment and communication at the Cornell Pain Clinic has exceeded my expectations. I wasn't holding my breathe for any changes, it has been greatly appreciated.

I saw Dr. Chand at Cornell Pain Clinic recently for some debilitating nerve pain in my back. Dr. Chand and his entire staff were wonderful to work with throughout the entire process and I highly recommend Cornell Pain Clinic. I've learned from reading stuff on the internet just how difficult and complex managing chronic pain can be. The location can be difficult to pinpoint, it can be hard to correlate it to the cause, and the intensity is so subjective that it can be like chasing a ghost. And the whole time this difficult detective work is being conducted, the patient is hurting so they're pissed off and even unreliable in their reporting. Dr. Chand patiently helped be calibrate and describe the pain I was feeling. Fortunately I had an MRI that gave us clear clues about the cause of my pain and therefore we spent most of our time discussing a plan. But it's important to note, that Dr. Chand still spent the time to make sure about the cause. The procedure was uncomfortable, but tolerable. And honestly, a few minutes of discomfort compared to 24/7 pain is a worthwhile trade in my view. The staff was professional and maybe most importantly seemed sensitive to the anxiety I was feeling about the pain and the procedure. I'm happy to report that a good portion of my pain is resolved and that we have a good plan for dealing with it if it returns (it probably will). And in the course of this, a secondary issue (arthritis in my spine) that has been a source of pain was identified and a plan for that created. I'm very happy with the excellent treatment I've gotten from Dr. Chand and his team and recommend them for helping you manage your pain.

The doctor refused to listen to me and my pcp. Just wanted to schedule a joint injection, which was not why I was there. I asked him what the risks were and he said "Either schedule it or don't, " I have since found a different doctor that listens.
