After an emergency surgery done wrong, my docs said I needed to wait 18 months or longer to correct the rods/pins in my hip. I was so lucky to find Dr Jamali. He was able to do the surgery and I will always be grateful. He is kind, compassionate, and smart! His office staff is excellent. I would recommend him to anyone wanting the very best in the field.

I knew I had a problem with my hip. It was determined I had mild hip dysplasia and a torn labrum. After seeing 4 surgeons who kept insisting it was my back or I just needed PT, Dr. Jamali confirmed I needed my labrum repaired. The surgery was done and 7 years later I am still active! I gave up running but I cycle, walk for miles, and ski at least twice a week during the season. I am so grateful to Dr. Jamali. He is kind and very well qualified. Thank you Dr. Jamali for ending my pain.

I am 61 and have had 8 orthopedic surgeries on 6 joints with 6 different surgeons (lots of contact sports), and I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Jamali and his office. About 8 yrs ago my hip started a dull ache after I fell while rock climbing. When my general practitioner saw my X-ray he said he’d never seen such damage in someone my age. I talked to my roller hockey buddy (an emergency room doc) who recommended Dr. Jamali’s program. Dr. Jamali looked at my X-rays and said I had broken up the socket (it looked like the coast of Dalmatia) and I could try for either replacement or resurfacing. He recommended the latter in my case, also noted that I could wait some. I spent a year waiting and working out on a stationary bike trying to help it, but eventually it got so wiggly that I scheduled a resurfacing with him. Leading up to the operation I saw how his office is innovative with insurers and completely transparent about costs, and he had me fully informed prior to surgery. On surgery day he was clearly thrilled to be there and totally focused like a track athlete; after surgery he was the same but like after a competition that he had won. He reviewed the surgery and the prognosis, and gave me careful instructions on post-operative care and follow-up visits. I soon became as active as I was in my 30’s including strenuous hiking, bicycling, and not only roller but ice hockey (am soon starting my 5th season: in my 3rd season I dislocated my shoulder and Dr. Jamali referred me to one of the best rotator cuff surgeons on the West coast who is the only surgeon I know on par with Dr. Jamali, but that shoulder surgeon is personally a jackass while Dr. Jamali is a wonderful fellow). Other than the hip scar I cannot tell that I have had a hip operation and often forget except at airport security. In all my interactions, Dr. Jamali was direct, to the point, and honest, while also affable, polite, respectful, and friendly. His office staff were marvelous; well-informed, helpful, timely with communication and congenial. One of them is an etymologist, and all were extremely competent. I thank my lucky stars for the referral to Dr. Jamali.
