Patient reviews

I had a great experience at Mindstream Integrative. I’m a person who asks a lot of questions, wanting to collect information and feedback to run through my own filters and intuition to guide my decisions. Dr Neff, the nurses and staff were all very helpful in dialogue with me. As I age, there’s often not a clear answer as much as a collection of possibilities so it’s a lot to sort through. My experience with Mindstream built my confidence and aligned with what I already know about my system and tendencies. It was supportive of deepening my health and well-being.

Dr Neff is patient, thoughtful, kind, and cares about the health outcomes of those lucky to call her doctor. She has seen me through health crisis, off of hospice, with an appreciated returned quality of life. Highly recommended for coordinating complex care.

WARNING! Medical gaslighting, bypassing, pseudoscience, and legitimate harm cloaked in meticulous "integrative medicine" branding. I saw dr. Neff twice this summer after moving to nashville with multiple referrals to find a new PCP to help address persistent concussion symptoms, a well-documented condition. At our first visit, she quickly identified potential areas for improvement and ordered labs to guide a treatment plan. I felt hopeful for the first time in 4 years since my injury, as she seemed well-versed and her office somewhat equipped in TBI care. At my follow-up to discuss lab results and continuing symptoms, Dr. Neff singlehandedly twisted the knife in my wounds of being harmed by medical professionals. I thought I had seen it all, but this was the weirdest, darkest, most inappropriate appointment I have ever had! She told me i was completely healthy, above average even, and wrote off all of the abnormalities on my labs as being anxiety and toxin-related (despite living in a low pollution, dry environment for the last 8 years). She seemed **panicked** when I expressed my relief for appearing healthy but confusion as to why I am still unable to work to support myself, enjoy time with friends and family, and live a healthy life. It was as if she realized that I saw right through her struggling incompetence and needed to regain control after a very valid question from her patient. She told me the biggest lie I have ever heard, which was "I genuinely believe you feel sick because your soul does not want to return to your body", WHICH IS A HORRIBLE THING TO SAY TO ANY LIVING BEING AND GOES AGAINST ALL WISDOM OF HEALING. She then promptly and aggressively **blamed** me for the appointment going over time (despite her dragging it out and my body aiming towards the door), walked me out, and told me there was no need for following up. Believe me I have tried everything to improve all areas of my health to little avail. I knew something was wrong with my body's chemistry, not my soul's disposition, which is why every therapist (mental health, physical, occupational, and speech) I have ever seen tells me I need to see a medical doctor. Lo and behold, I visited a PA at a different clinic later on, and she took one look at the exact same labs dr. Neff ordered/reviewed and calmly asked me "have you ever hit your head before? Have you heard of hormone replacement therapy, hypothyroidism, and/or adrenal fatigue?" I have since been delivered adequate medical care and medication without provider-driven conflict, gaslighting, shaming, blaming, and hostility. It was that easy, and cost me 25% of what I paid to go to Mindstream. I feel so sad and disheartened that dr. Neff very easily could have said "i'm not sure I know what is causing you to feel ill, let's find out or I can refer you to someone who can help" but instead chose to take her own fear of being inadequate out on me. SAVE YOUR MONEY, TIME, HOPE, AND ENERGY, AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. This lady is nothing but a wannabe healer running a cash cow clinic. You cannot convince me she is acting in any form of good faith, as she swore to do at her white coat ceremony many moons ago. It now makes sense why I felt intense anxiety and tension in Dr. Neff's presence at both appointments. My experience feels very aligned with the other 1-star review. Just straight up negligence and then blaming you "for not being a right fit." I spoke with my old M.D. back home, and he calmly advised me to document my experience, write a negative review, and asked me to consider filing a complaint with the state for this doctor's behavior, calling out predatory billing practices, negligence, and patient abandonment. In no shape or form is any of it excusable, nor my fault. Not mentioned in this review is the $4300 in bills I received from LabCorp for bloodwork. When I asserted my rights to a Good Faith Estimate that they failed to provide, they conveniently submitted my bill to insurance (something they claim they don't do) and it was reduced to $30. They still got paid on my insurance. SHADY!!!
