Patient reviews
I called today to schedule an appointment as a first-time patient and was genuinely surprised by the careless and slightly rude attitude of the scheduling staff. She made me feel as if I was inconveniencing her with my questions and appointment request. I recently moved to Cumming and was excited to find a doctor closer to me, especially after reading so many positive reviews about this practice. During the call, I was put on hold 4–5 times after giving my name, insurance information, and other basic details every time without any notice or explanation. When I shared the reason for my visit, I was immediately told to schedule a “family planning” appointment. Naturally, I asked what that visit includes as I had an ectopic pregnancy surgery last January which I explained to her initially, and my goal wasn’t simply to discuss conception. I wanted to make sure I was booking the correct type of appointment so that I wouldn’t have to go through the hassle of rescheduling later, especially given how stressful this topic already is for me. I wasn’t asking for medical advice or expecting overly cheerful service. I was just hoping for a basic explanation of the appointment type. Instead, after explaining my concerns, I was met with, “to talk about possible future pregnancies (really!?) - I don’t know what else you expect me to say” which felt dismissive and unnecessary. I hope my experience during the actual doctor visit is more reflective of the positive feedback I’ve read from others. !! Updating my review now that I’ve had my actual visit. I’m happy to say my experience at the clinic was completely different and very positive. Everyone I interacted with in person was kind and welcoming, from check-in to the end of my appointment. The doctor was truly wonderful, attentive, friendly, and very understanding. He took the time to listen to my concerns, made me feel comfortable, and showed genuine care. While my initial scheduling experience was disappointing, the quality of care I received during my visit was excellent, and I’m glad I kept the appointment.

I had a great experience with Dr. Lewis, but I will not be coming back here because of my experience trying to get my lab work done. Also you have to pay $7 to park for an hour and there were multiple cars circling the lot, very chaotic. My experience: The doctor told me to go to the sign that says lab work, which is right next to the waiting room. I didn’t see the sign to put my lab order in a folder and then go back to the waiting room, to be called back. There isn’t a door so I step into the room and the phlebotomist was on her phone and visibly annoyed that I didn’t see the sign. She rudely told me to put it in the folder, so I didn’t and went to the waiting room. She comes out about 5 minutes later and we go to the lab room. She doesn’t say a word to me and puts the rubber band on my arm and sticks the needle in my arm. It hurt worse than any other time I’ve gotten my blood drawn and I wince. She instantly removes the needle and the rubber band, throws her hands in the air and says “I can’t get her. You come try her” to the other phlebotomist. I tell the other phlebotomist that I don’t need it and I leave teary eyed. I understand that getting blood drawn is never going to feel good, but it was her attitude that was extremely rude and off putting. I believe the phlebotomists are contacted, not employees of the practice, but either way, it is not acceptable.

I called to make an appointment as a first-time patient, and the scheduler had a surprisingly rude and unprofessional attitude. She spoke to me as if I were inconveniencing her just by trying to schedule a visit. If this is the first impression of the practice, it doesn’t give me confidence that the team will be empathetic or welcoming, which is something I value when choosing a healthcare provider.
