Patient reviews
I was an at risk pregnancy due to my obesity and hypertension and my previous OB refused to keep me as a patient, so at 10 weeks pregnant with my first child I was hysterically seeking care. After being chastised by other doctor’s offices for “waiting too late”, we found Oasis Women’s. I got an appointment with Dr.Welch and everything has been smooth sailing since that day. Now 4 months post Partum, I have a healthy baby girl and I’m back doing the activities I love. Dr.Welch listened to every single concern and question of mine and my husbands. As first time parents we had so many questions. Diamond had the absolute best bedside manner and made me feel supported and comfortable. Dr. Gates was with me on the days of delivery and was very direct and provided much clarity. They and the hospital honored my birthing plan as much as possible. If this review were solely about the medical care they would get 5 stars from me. I did have similar issues about timing, and over scheduling. But it did seem like the team made an effort to minimize waiting as much as possible over the course of my pregnancy. I do wish there was a little more financial transparency about paying the balance and the initial fees before the appointment. Overall, I’ve been recommending Oasis Women’s to anyone looking for an OB that makes them feel heard, safe, and respected.

I truly hate to write negative reviews. I’m the person that will quietly allow you to make something right before telling people about your transgressions. Unfortunately, here I am writing a negative review - I’ll start off by saying Dr. Welch and her PA are fantastic. Very warm and informative….When you do finally end up seeing them. The wait times can be brutal, you’d think you were in the emergency room. But you’re not so this seems like an allotment of time issue. Perhaps the focus should be quality and not quantity when it comes to patients. Depending on who is at the front desk, you’ll either get a friendly person or a frustrated rude person expressing their frustration when speaking to you. My biggest issue and the reason I’ve decided not to return to this practice is the billing process… without going into much detail, I have great insurance and have been waiting almost 5 months now, for a refund. The front desk staff will direct you to the office manager who is never available by phone. And her email responses often take an eternity for a response. No one at the front desk is knowledgeable enough about billing and honestly the mistake should’ve never happened. I’ve now requested all of my transactions over the past 2 years to go over with my insurance company to confirm there weren’t other issues. Because they didn’t automatically notify of a refund, like most offices. I TOLD THEM after I just happened to check one of my EOB statements, months later. It’s ridiculous.

I have a healthcare background, so initially I tried to be understanding given they may have a high volume of patients making it difficult to receive care in a timely manner. Each of my appointments here I was seen 45 minutes to an hour after my appointment time, given little time with the doctor to discuss anything, and had difficulty contacting anyone in the office via phone or MyChart. I had an ultrasound done as part of a pelvic exam where I was unable to ask questions and was rushed. I did not hear back about the results of my ultrasound and contacted the office 3 times over two and a half weeks before being able to get ahold of someone who said it typically takes 72 hours from the appointment for results to enter MyChart. Instead, I had to schedule another appointment and pay a copay to see my results, where the ultrasound images were shown to me on a piece of paper that I could not keep and I was told I needed a cystectomy ASAP. I spoke to the staff about scheduling and was told to wait until the office called, or follow up within a week if no one reached out. I called the office 10 days later, was able to speak to someone briefly until I heard them hang up the phone. I have since gone somewhere for a second opinion, and the new office did not did not receive the requested records of my ultrasound nor did they ever put the results in MyChart. From the ultrasound done at another office, I was shown in real time my results, that everything looked healthy and I did not need any surgery at all. I am now seeing other similar reviews about this practice, I'm sorry for anyone else who has a shared experience, I was recommended this place and I wish I had done a little more reading before coming here.
