Patient reviews

Dr. Bates was excellent. He really took the time to explain my issues thoroughly. He didn't just give me the hurried, watered down version. He started with the scientific explanation, then went back through everything in layman's terms, making sure I was following. He also gave me plenty of time to ask my own questions. There aren't many doctors around anymore who provide this level of service. And he clearly knows his stuff, too. He quickly and confidentiality diagnosed my problem, explaining his rationale along the way. Five stars is well-deserved here!

Dr. Bates was incredibly condescending and rude during my consultation and became defensive when I asked him a standard question regarding his proposed treatment plan - huge red flag. He mocked me and my referring dentist and was generally unprofessional. This practice does accept my insurance but I'll willingly pay out of pocket to avoid dealing with them again. Don't normally write negative reviews, but wouldn't want anyone else to have to experience a similar event. The women at the front desk and the dental assistant (unsure of her title), however, were very nice.

I would give this office zero stars if I could. My experience was extremely disappointing due to their unprofessionalism and rude behavior. I was treated as though I was an inconvenience rather than a patient seeking care. When I asked routine questions, the staff responded dismissively, as if my concerns were unimportant. To make matters worse, they attempted to charge me $120 just to obtain copies of my own imaging. When I contacted another medical office for comparison, they were shocked by this and kindly offered to redo my imaging free of charge. Shortly after, the head of the original office called me in an attempt to keep my business—only to criticize the new doctor I had chosen, suggesting that any office offering free copies should “make me nervous.” He even admitted that some offices “eat that cost,” which made it clear this was simply a matter of excessive and unnecessary fees. Overall, this office demonstrated a lack of professionalism, empathy, and respect for patients. I would strongly recommend seeking care elsewhere—preferably at a facility that values patients over profit
