As a certified personal trainer, I spend my days helping others stay active, strong, and doing the things they love, but I’m also someone who loves living life fully myself. After seven surgeries on my foot, I wasn’t sure if trail running would ever be part of my story again. Thanks to Dr. Heather Hammonds and her incredible team at Restore, it absolutely is. The combination of EMTT and shockwave therapy has been life-changing, allowing me to get back on the trails and enjoy the miles that mean so much to me. And the recovery suite is simply amazing. Having something like this available right here in our community is a true treasure. Dr. Hammonds is one of the best. She is deeply knowledgeable, passionate about what she does, and genuinely invested in her patients’ well-being. I’m beyond grateful for the care I’ve received and the difference it continues to make in my life. Misty Gigliotti, Certified Personal Trainer (Misty G Fitness)

For Doctor Heather Hammonds (October 2025): Our issue was long-standing left-shoulder pain diagnosed as lack of clearance or inflammation of tissues around the AC joint (acromioclavicular joint). Eleven months of treatment with various local physical therapy clinics and chiropractic doctor’s offices, along with diligently following the therapeutic exercises prescribed yielded little to no relief. After almost a year shoulder movement was still painful in certain radii and strength unacceptably reduced because of the pain. Chiropractors x-rayed, applied MLS laser therapy, ultrasound applications and various degrees of shock wave therapy along with different adjustments involving both the shoulder area – and extending all the way to the spine, neck and base of skull. Physical therapists directed moderate tension exercises with strict posture positioning to realign and retrain muscle firing in the shoulder area. Results were nominal and expensive as most of these treatments were not covered by medicare insurance. One diagnostic visit to Doctor H. Hammonds provided immediate partial relief with a session for treatment scheduled just two days later. Based on the earlier diagnostic visit the prescribed image-guided injections provided immediate relief. Injections (prolotherapy with minimal corticosteroid) at three angles to the shoulder were accomplished almost totally pain free, followed the next two days by no recovery pain or discomfort. Two most important characteristics of Doctor Hammonds’ practice: 1. Treatment decisions involve use of the most advanced technology and complete knowledge of the human musculoskeletal system – and all the tissues that interact with it. 2. Dr. Hammonds manner of interacting with patients is outstanding – even amazing. She patiently extracts complete information about the nature of the injury from the patient while informing of the possible causes and the reasons for recommended treatment. She is not hurried, is extremely professional and really listens to what is being expressed. During treatment, whether external manipulative or internal injection, Dr. Hammond is sensitive to the patient’s comfort – constantly monitoring (asking is this okay?) and careful to apply treatments only to the limits of the patients comfort. In our experience these features distinguish Doctor Hammond’s medical practice above all others for any issues she deals with. The title for her practice “RESTORE” aptly describes this leading medical practitioner – we are so lucky to have here in Mountain Home. Larisa Afanasieva and Gerald Gaige

I had a wonderful experience with my son to Restore Sports Medicine and Dr. Heather Hammonds. He was a senior in high school playing baseball and basketball. He struggled with lower back pain that was nearly unbearable, and we'd been to the chiropractor several times with no long-lasting help. She spent 1.5 hours with him on the first visit, and was so great to ask questions and get him talking. She came up with several treatments and the cause of the pain, and he had nearly immediate relief from his pain and has not struggled since. It really made a difference for his senior year sports experience. Thank you Dr. Hammonds!
