About this clinic

Gray Matters, serving Fairfield County, Connecticut and Westchester County, New York, specializes in quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG) brain mapping and neurofeedback therapy. The clinic uses qEEG assessment to measure brainwave activity and identify dysregulation patterns, then applies neurofeedback protocols to support normalization of brain function. Neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback in which real-time information about brainwave activity is fed back to the patient during a session, allowing the brain to self-regulate toward healthier patterns. The practice addresses conditions including attention dysregulation, mood imbalance, sleep disturbance, and anxiety. Treatment plans are individualized following the initial qEEG ass

Our 3 year old son has been attending Gray Matters Greenwich location for about 10 months. He was essentially nonverbal when we started, rarely answered his name, and had difficulty completing tasks without extreme prompting. Under the supervision and guidance of Vincenzo, an individualized plan was created for him and the results have been incredible. Our son's functional language skills have been exploding in recent months, he is able to complete tasks with minimal assistance, answers his name as much as any toddler would, and his overall attention and focus has vastly improved. We could not recommend Vincenzo, and his team, Crystal and Tyler, enough to anyone who qualifies. Their support and commitment to each patient is unmatched.

Vincenzo and the entire staff at Gray Matters have helped us greatly. Both my sons have been helped with their anxiety, headaches brain fog. The therapy helps with focus and is non invasive. The staff are involved and are so easy to work with and are always there to help in anyway possible.

Our 17 year old autistic son is going off to college next fall and we wanted to make sure he had the best chance of success while away from home. With that in mind, we researched several different modalities for managing some of his autistic manifestations that weren't serving him well. He has done OT, DBT, and talk therapy. All have helped a little, but not enough for us to be confident in his ability to be successfully away from home. Our son struggled with irritability, poor sleep, executive functioning skills such as planning ahead and turning his school work in on time, perfectionism, and negative self talk to name a few. Finding Gray Matters has been such a god-send. Vincenzo has been absolutely fantastic in this journey and has a gift for walking people through the science of neurofeedback. It starts with a 3D brain mapping (most places I looked only did 2D mapping which doesn't give you the whole picture). Then a specialized protocol is developed for the sessions. We were told up front that it takes at least 20 sessions to start to see improvement so we were fully prepared for the time investment. We are now 30 sessions in and I can't even imagine what it will look like when he wraps up (I'm told that most people do 40 ish sessions). First, he's sleeping so much better. In fact, he was complaining a little that he no longer has his "me time" between when he goes to bed and the 45mins to an hour it takes him to fall asleep because he's falling asleep so quickly now that his brain can finally shut off enough to rest. We've noticed that he's no longer irritable with his younger brother - who, as brothers go is both his best friend and source of his most irritation. He doesn't snap, or have a snide tone. Honestly, this alone is a bit of a miracle. Overall, he seems a lot less anxious and calm in addition to a noticeable lowering in the negative self talk. It's still there, but there is an observable decrease. The last thing that we're noticing is that he's starting to plan more. Planning to work on scholarship applications, planning on doing his homework, etc. He's not to the point where that planning is turning into execution yet, but we see this as an amazing first step. I cannot thank Gray Matters enough for helping to give our son the best chance at a happy and successful life. One that has less anxiety, negative self talk, and repercussions for his gap in executive functioning skills. Our son will always have autism. He'll always need a little extra help and be delightfully quirky. Neurofeedback has just made him a more content version of himself. (I also want to mention the techs at Gray Matters- they're so personable, helpful, and just overall fantastic)
