Rewired Ketamine

I had the most incredible experience with Dr. Silverstone yesterday. It was my first ketamine treatment and, as a veteran, it can take a lot for me to truly feel safe in new environments. I can honestly say he provided me the safest experience I could have imagined. The session was guided by him and it was truly transformative. I am looking forward to continuing treatment with him! The ladies at the front desk are also the sweetest. 10/10 experience all across the board.

Review for Rewired Brain Clinic – Dr. Jacob Silverstone I am a 66-year-old emergency physician and want to share a personal experience with ketamine treatment at Rewired Brain Clinic in Aventura with Dr. Jacob Silverstone. Although ketamine therapy can be used for many psychiatric issues, I was there because I was grieving my pet. My 16-year-old red toy poodle, Corpuscle, is nearing the end of her life. For years I would feel sad thinking about eventually losing her, but recently the grief began coming in waves. Whenever I thought about her—or imagined life without her—the tears would come and I would become emotional for several minutes before I could regain my composure. Over time the reaction became stronger and increasingly difficult to control. Eventually it felt like a reflexive emotional response that I simply could not override, no matter how much I tried to reason through it cognitively. From the moment I first called the clinic, to arriving at the front desk and leaving after treatment, every person I encountered was exceptionally compassionate, kind, and empathetic. The environment felt calm, private, and supportive, and it was clear that the entire team genuinely cares about helping patients. Dr. Silverstone met with me privately and spoke with remarkable understanding and reassurance. During the ketamine infusion he gently asked me to say my dog’s name and call her as I normally would. At first the tears came immediately and uncontrollably, just as they always had. Then something remarkable happened. As the ketamine began to take effect, the emotional pain suddenly disappeared. The pain was absolutely gone! When he asked me to call her again, I could say “Here, Corpuscle” and think about her without tears or distress. My brain had stopped using the reflexive pathways that triggered the grief and had reset to a healthier way of processing the fact that my little dog was going to die. It was OK though, because it’s the natural history of life When the session ended, I felt calm, clear, and at peace. As both a physician and a patient, it was one of the most profound therapeutic experiences I have ever experienced personally and as a practicing emergency medicine physician. Dr. Silverstone is an extraordinary doctor and human being. In my opinion, he is an angel masquerading as a human. From a clinical perspective, the change in my emotional response during treatment was immediate, clear, unmistakable, and persistent. As physicians, we are trained to recognize meaningful clinical effects when we see them; and the effects of Dr. Silverstone’s were profound. If you are carrying a heavy emotional burden, and experiencing grief or other psychological condition, I strongly encourage you to speak with Dr. Silverstone. As a physician, I know he has the ability to help many people—if they are willing to reach out and allow him to help them.
