Treatment Failed - Important Information for Potential Patients I understood the risks going into this treatment, and the staff was very friendly (though they should be for the premium cost). I do not want to give a one-star review, but it's essential that people understand what they're getting into, as it may not work as expected. Received 3 umbilical cord stem cell injections (November, December, January) costing around $18,000 total. Put my life on hold basically for 8 months and nursed my shoulder. When I started PT, they recommended. It was clear that the stem cell injections did not do anything, and my situation got worse. I finally saw Dr. Simovitch, which I should have done from the beginning. This was my fault for not getting the correct advice, as these individuals are not shoulder specialists or even orthopedic specialists. The Good News: Dr. Simovitch confirmed that I do not need surgery, and my pain is not even from the tear they were supposedly treating. MRI Comparison Shows: Before Treatment (Sept 2024): Suspected partial rotator cuff tear Mild AC joint arthritis After Treatment (Sept 2025): Confirmed larger partial tear (3.6mm) Moderate AC joint arthritis New adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder) New joint effusion Medical Professional Feedback: Two orthopedic doctors and one physical therapist told me proper stem cell treatment requires: - Ultrasound guidance for precise placement (they didn't use) - Patient's own bone marrow, not umbilical cord - Treatment by medical doctors/specialists, not nurse practitioners - Performed by actual orthopedic specialists They repeatedly claimed they were offering treatments "at cost," Which I do not believe or think they understand as a sales tactic, what at cost means. Cost Comparison: I found a reputable bone marrow stem cell treatment with ultrasound guidance offered by a doctor/specialist in Jupiter, and was told it would cost around $5,500 to $ 7,000. Bottom Line: I did tell the sales guy I would get another MRI and compare the results, so there should not be a surprise for the review. When I said it was not working. They gave me an additional jelly shot (thought it was stem cells), whatever that is, and then they said again that we would get another shot at cost, which was around $ 5,500 for one shot, pretty much what I paid before. At that point, I knew I had made a mistake and would just be handing out more money, taking all the risks. It's heartbreaking. I spent our savings on this, and I still cannot participate in the sports I love, like surfing and fishing, but I still have hope to receive proper treatment and learn from the hard lessons. Do your research and gather multiple opinions from actual orthopedic specialists first? I hope this will guide you to avoid a similar experience.
