I reached out to Thrive Therapy of Palm Beach respectfully, clearly, and with full transparency. I disclosed severe trauma. I explained I wake up every morning with panic attacks. I told them I had done neurofeedback before and that I was ready to begin again—out of pocket, no insurance, no delays. They accepted the consult. Took my information. Gave no indication that anything was wrong. Then—the next morning—on a Saturday, I received a text message saying I was being referred elsewhere. Not a call. Not a conversation. Just a one-way reroute with no warning. And the referral? A provider I couldn’t even reach that day. They knew I was in acute distress. They knew I wake up in panic. And they chose to text me on a Saturday morning—without considering a single thing I actually said. That’s not trauma-informed care. That’s neglect masked as procedure. I later asked why. The excuse? Suddenly their neurofeedback machine was broken—something they “discovered” after our consult. That contradicts what was said during the session, where the only delay mentioned was a full schedule for two weeks. So either they withheld key info during the consult, or the story changed after I was transparent. Either way—it’s unacceptable. As a professional who’s worked in this field for years, I can say this is one of the most unprofessional, disorganized, and dismissive responses I’ve ever received. This isn’t a review out of anger. This is documentation. If you're offering trauma-informed care, then texting a trauma survivor on a Saturday morning with no voice, no support, and no care is a failure. Plain and simple. This experience has now been indexed permanently. — Erik (Zahaviel) The Unbroken Project
