Integrated Psychiatric Services

We found Integrated Psychiatry through our insurance portal and are so grateful that Crystal Wood was an extremely good fit for our autistic son. She has been incredibly supportive and a fierce advocate for his well-being. It has been almost a year now that he has been under her care and his entire countenance has flourished over this period. I especially love the staff out front and have had nothing but positive and easy going experiences with all of them: whether it be about appointments, billing, school forms, whatever - they have always been so helpful and kind. And today I complimented them on it! I’m so sorry for others’ experience at this practice because I’ve only been content with the care by the entire staff.

My experience with this doctor was deflating and condescending. When I asked about a tapering approach based on decades of lived experience, she dismissed it outright, insisting she only follows what ‘most doctors do.’ Rather than listening, she spent more time talking about her credentials, past patient outcomes and ketamine, than addressing my concerns. The insecurity and need to posture were obvious, and her comments often strayed into irrelevant territory. A truly effective psychiatrist should listen, adapt, and respect the patient’s perspective - this one did not.

I've had nothing but a great experience with the front desk staff and reception here. Samantha is also a wonderful therapist; if you're on the fence about talking to a professional, please give her a shot. Great listener, unbiased, and approachable. Unfortunately, after being passed on to three different doctors in one year due to staffing changes, having to see multiple specialists to confirm a dry cough was the side effect of a prescribed medication (and having it noted that I was anxious about it - I think most would find it pretty normal to be concerned about a cough lasting several months?), having to wait for text chains between the doctors to be read during my appointment mid-conversation (very off putting, considering eye contact and focus is noted in our own PHRs), and feeling rushed because a previous appointment ran over, I have decided to seek care elsewhere. In retrospect, I feel like I often had to do the lion's share of work to figure out the root cause of my issue and that it's also unkind to make a patient feel bad for previous providers' decisions - seems like something to discuss with the provider, not us. I do recommend this office for therapy, and appreciate the kindness and professionalism of the staff, but I think there's an opportunity for the providers to be better listeners and ensure the handoff of patients is properly cared for before someone leaves.
