Surgery is never easy, but the incredible team at Innovation GYN Center made the entire experience in June as smooth and stress-free as possible. First, I want to sincerely thank my nurse, Theresa, for her attentive and compassionate care. Her twenty plus years in the medical field shines through. A special thank you to Becky, who helped calm me after an unsettling comment from the anesthesiologist and after my tremoring episode — her kindness and support made a big difference in that moment. I’m also grateful to Emily, Ria, Ivy, Jasmin, and Marly for their professionalism and warmth throughout my visit. From start to finish, everyone I encountered was courteous, friendly, and focused on making sure I felt safe and supported. (My apologies if I have omitted the name of anyone who assisted me.) This was actually my second fibroid surgery, and I wouldn’t trust anyone else but Dr. Danilyants to perform it. Her expertise, professionalism, and empathy set her apart. As a woman of color, I’ve often had negative experiences in medical settings — from not being taken seriously to receiving subpar care — which has made me understandably anxious about surgery and healthcare in general. It’s hard to put your trust in a system that has failed you before. But Dr. Danilyants is different. She truly listens, she takes your concerns seriously, and she deeply cares about providing high-quality, respectful care to all patients. That kind of trust and compassion is rare, and it means everything. My recovery went smoothly thanks to thorough aftercare instructions provided both verbally and in writing. I even received images of the fibroids that were removed — which I found both informative and validating. When I had questions, the staff responded quickly and checked in on me afterward. When I expressed concern about the tape coming off my incisions, Emily redressed them with care and no hesitation. My incisions healed beautifully. Scheduling was easy, and shout-out to the front desk for being so helpful with the insurance side of things — they made what’s often a stressful process feel effortless. I’m incredibly grateful to Dr. Danilyants and the entire team at Innovation GYN Center. They turned a potentially scary and difficult experience into one filled with compassion, dignity, and genuine care.

I highly recommend Dr. Natalya E. Danilyants and her team at The Center for Innovative GYN Care. After back-to-back days in an INOVA ER, I faced a month-long wait for surgery to address a rapidly escalating condition that left me in severe pain. Feeling dismissed by INOVA’s overbooked surgical scheduling, I sought alternatives and found Dr. Danilyants. Her team promptly recognized the urgency and provided exceptional care that permanently resolved my pain. Choosing Dr. Danilyants for my surgery was one of the best decisions for my health. I was diagnosed with uterine fibroids a few years ago, and more recently began having a lot of abdominal discomfort and bloating due to the size and location. I received a consultation from another surgeon who was really dismissive and hurtful. He didn't ask me anything, just stated he didn't see a need to operate and then gave me a lecture about my age. I left feeling really disheartened, but decided to seek a second opinion. I found Dr. Danilyants and was eager to set up an appointment after seeing the educational content about fibroids and fertility she posts online. Our consultant was great! She asked me questions about my symptoms and about my fertility goals. She clearly took my concerns seriously and informed me that we could absolutely do a minimally invasive procedure (something my first surgeon said was not possible). Dr. Danilyants' surgical team was amazing! I received all the information I needed beforehand, they answered any questions I had, and day of I felt really cared for! This was the first surgery I've ever had, but the team really made sure to be efficient and have such a seamless process that I felt confident I was in good hands. My recovery has been much easier than I anticipated, and my quality of life has vastly improved since removing these fibroids. I feel better overall and I have so much more confidence in my body now that they're gone. This entire experience was a reminder of how important it is to advocate for yourself and your health! I'm really glad I found a surgeon who actually understands women's health and takes our concerns seriously. I would definitely recommend a consultation with her if you're experiencing ongoing issues with your fibroids.
