Dr. Ron I have been meaning to let you know how things are going way before today, but I thought considering it is the 9th week or a little over 2 months ago since the PRP injection I thought I would tell you how I am feeling. Seriously I have been pondering how to explain to you in descriptive words of how I actually feel. Each day brings new things I guess. I have been going to the gym each and every day starting about 7 weeks ago now. I started out very slow and have been working towards goals of not only strengthening my neck and shoulder area but building up stamina in my legs and back all while targeting my core. Don't get me wrong my neck still gets stiff but not the stiffness that it was feeling before the injection. More stiffness from simply being able to exercise that area more now. This stiffness eventually goes away after stretching it out the next day. It's mostly stiff because I can now do 3 sets of 10 pushups without any pain in that specific movement. It's baby steps as I couldn't really do any pushups WITHOUT pain and feeling that knot in that neck shoulder area. To be honest there is no more heavy thick knot in my neck anymore. The need to constantly self adjust it to try and get rid of the knot is no longer there. The neck and shoulder joint seems more lubricated if that's the right word I'm looking for. It's simply just not as tight as it used to be which allows more mobility strengthening exercises in that area of concern. With regard to my back and hips, those are an interesting topic in itself. Again I don't know how to verbalize how they feel different in the moment of exercising on the treadmill and/or the elliptical as there just seems to be more lubrication in there too. I mean don't get me wrong my entire body is stiff in the morning, but I have been stiff in all the wrong places in the morning for years. More chronic stiffness than anything but as the morning and day progresses into the exercise portion of the day my knees have never been able to get higher on marches than in the past 7 weeks of somewhat intense exercising for a 62 year old man. I stretch literally 3-5 times a day in some way or form on the floor trying to gain more movement and mobility in my hips and back. So there is no lack of trying on my part and I think things are paying off for me or at least in my mind and how my body works now compared to 9 weeks ago. I am taking golf lessons and there appears to be no issues other than body stiffness late in the day, but I have to realize I am 62 so I'm no spring chicken and thank goodness because if I got the bird flu right now they might just have to euthanize me anyway. All joking aside, things are truly feeling good. I have been working hard with a strong positive attitude which helps and continues to drive me to the gym on a daily basis. I know how the healing process works where there will be ups, downs and plateaus so to speak but for now I am enjoying the ride up and the idea of being able to exercise again as I get ready for a full schedule of golf this coming spring, summer and Fall. Thanks for listening to me rant even if I started out wondering how to explain exactly how I feel each day since my injection. Thanks again Dr. Ron my quality of life is definitely much better. Mike
