About this clinic

NeuroCognitive & Behavioral Institute, located in New Jersey, offers Biofeedback Therapy as part of a comprehensive approach to cognitive, neurobehavioral, and psychiatric disorders. The practice emphasizes personalized assessment informed by neuroscience research, with treatment protocols tailored to individual neurophysiological presentations rather than applying standardized medication-first interventions. Biofeedback training helps patients develop awareness of and voluntary control over physiologic processes—heart-rate variability, muscle tension, brainwave patterns—that contribute to symptoms. This self-regulation skill can support patients managing anxiety, attention difficulties, and mood dysregulation. Telehealth options are availa

I wish I read reviews before starting the process. I don’t write reviews, but this place is horrific. I set an appointment for my son. They made sure I had a phone call explaining every cost I would incur. I got it in email form as well as a phone call. I scheduled appointments. Went to appointments. When my son was doing his brain mapping appointment, he came out early and they said the machine went down. They made sure to charge me full price on top of insurance. When I tried to make another appointment they stopped responding. I’ve emailed many times and they respond saying someone will be in touch. When you call you get a lengthy wait. It’s been a year since we started the process. They got their money for most of the testing. I never got to finish and get a report. I can’t recommend going anywhere but here more. Unprofessional. Scam. Money grabbers. Stay away.

Worst experience at a doctors office I have ever had. There is a REASON no one has ever rated this place more than one star. From the snarky nurses on a weird power trip to not being told I'd be doing several HOURS of testing for my appointment until arrival that day, to never getting to speak with a doctor until you make it through about 10 hrs of testing. I felt completely in the dark the entire experience and really had no idea what I was being tested for at any given time. A very unsettling experience I would urge anyone to avoid. And it takes a lot to get me to that point. The entire thing is just a way to rake as much out of you/your insurance will cover, and run everything with that in mind. They don't care about you as an individual or human being, and certainly make no efforts to even pretend to treat their patients as such.

This is one of those organizations that doesn’t even deserve the mandatory one star. My young son became a patient here when we switched insurance and the new insurance had them listed as doing pediatric neuropsych evaluations and having an office in Voorhees (South Jersey near our home), their impressive, self congratulatory website also has a listed location in Voorhees. When I called I was shocked by how quickly they could get him in but noticed that when they sent the schedule that the in person appointments were all in Bedminster (2 1/2 hours from our house) when I objected and asked for the Voorhees location, I was told that they wanted to open a location in Voorhees “some day” but they didn’t have one now! I was going to look elsewhere but the wait was so short and the website was so impressive and they assured me that they were experts at dealing with neurodivergent, challenging children (the kind who need neuropsych evaluations). At some point the amount of scheduled appointments ballooned to 11 (at $75 an appointment that’s over $800). We were also shocked to learn that it’s not just the billing and scheduling that’s outsourced to the Philippines, it’s many of the psychologists and practitioners who they bill as “physicians”. I’d recommend googling anyone without a listed degree. The actual office we went to looked nothing like the one on the website and was drab with water damaged ceilings and they do their ADOS testing in a space that the architect probably meant to be a supply closet. We traveled 2 1/2 hours to get there at the time on their schedule only to be left for almost half an hour in a “pediatric waiting room” without functioning toys or kids’ books because the employee wasn’t prepared. Despite assurances that they knew how to deal with difficult children, the person running his test gave up after a little over an hour of testing and told us to come back in a couple of years. So now they want us to pay hundreds of dollars for appointments with “physicians” who were in no way doctors and we have no answers, only the rage of a neurodivergent family that was lied to and scammed while trying to understand and help their struggling child.
