My experience with Dr Badia was superb! From the initial consult, where he answered all my questions and explained the procedure very well, I have had a very good experience.
The carpal tunnel release surgery, in his surgical center, went extremely well. The nurses, and the anesthesiologist and his staff were all wonderful! I felt totally comfortable under their care.
My recovery has been excellent! I had NO pain after my surgery!!
I never needed to take pain pills at all. Amazing to me!
I have already (one week post op) found myself using my hand to do things I haven't been able to do for 6 months.
Thank you Dr Badia, and your staff, for an excellent job!!

I am Felecia's husband who was the actual patient. I suffered for several years with limited mobility in my right thumb that significantly degraded my ability to type and play the piano. Over the years I saw three orthopedic doctors and clinics in the area where I live in Virginia and they all said it was typical arthritis and there was nothing that could be done. I was sure the condition could be improved so after a lot of online research I found Dr. Badia. From the first time I called his office, I was impressed with the professionalism, efficiency, and responsiveness of Susan and the others on his staff who helped me set up an online consultation with Dr. Badia and then schedule the surgery. The week of surgery which consisted of several pre- and post- appointments as well as the actual operation was very well organized and smoothly carried out. My wife and I who had driven to Miami from Virginia for the procedure were treated with consideration throughout the week we spent down there. My hand's recovery started very quickly and to my surprise I had almost no post-surgery pain. The swelling was largely gone in about 4 days and I started doing the preliminary movements advised by Dr. Badia's CHT. Except for stiffness and occasional slight discomfort in the thumb joint that was operated on, my right hand is back to normal and I was back to work in less than a week (wearing the hand brace I was given). I start therapy with a CHT near my home next week so time will tell if the procedure completely cures the problem I had. However, my experience with Dr. Badia and his staff to this point has far exceeded my expectations and we were very impressed at how smoothly it all went.

We brought our 17 year old son to Dr. Badia for a hand injury suffered playing baseball. From the moment we walked in to the office, everyone was kind and attentive. He ended up needing surgery and the entire process was extremely smooth and again, everyone we came in contact with was amazing. We had been to other doctors for this same injury several years ago and the injury kept getting misdiagnosed so it was great that Dr. Badia diagnosed the problem and took care it so my son doesn’t have to deal with it anymore.

The synopsis: Dr Badia's office has terrible / unprofessional staff (the other reviews stating the same were spot on). I would avoid this place. I was seriously considering wrist surgery with Dr Badia after he was recommended by a Doctor I trusted. They were quick to take my money for a remote consult and then after expressing concern over the logistics for the prerequisites for the surgery, their administrator literally stopped communicating with me. I was having stress over the whole situation due to the lack of time and other appointments required to make the surgery happen. God forbid someone asks questions about a major surgical procedure!!! ZERO compassion for my situation. I need to have surgery for a legitimate issue and this person acted like I was not a priority, or she is just lazy. The first red flag was during the zoom consult where this admin said she couldnt be bothered with email communication unless it was to send an attachment! What??? The worst part in all of this? This same admin reassured me prior to the consult that their surgical center took my insurance and then 6 days later she quoted me for the out of network costs over the phone without ever sending me any breakdown!!!!! I asked for the breakdown to be emailed and I never received anything. She had every excuse as to why she couldnt email it, nor did she ever return my phone call, nor did she answer my original questions. Even their receptionist who answers the phone had a snarky tone this morning and even cold transferred me into the admins voicemail one of the times I tried following up. SO Today, she told me yesterday was a surgery day and that she was too busy. However, last Tuesday she communicated with me multiple times to collect my payment for the remote consultation!!!! Very interesting. Also, during this consultation the Doctor himself passed me off to his assistant and left the session in the middle of asking questions about the surgery. That was very disappointing as I wanted to ask the person doing the surgery! Today I asked for my receipt for the consult and I still have not received that. I canceled my appointments due to all of this!! I NEVER write these reviews, but after the way their staff treated me, I will surely put this wherever I can so someone else does NOT waste their time with this place. I have dealt with multiple orthopedic offices now and NONE of them ever treated me like this. UNPROFESSIONAL.

I was referred to Dr. Alejandro Badia by Dr. Dan Kalbac last year for a sharp burning pain in my right elbow that was caused from playing golf. After meeting with Dr. Badia I really got the sense that he understood the nature of my injury and it's cause. Dr. Badia recommended surgery. At first I was hesitant, but later agreed to have it done. I'm so glad I did! He and his staff were very attentive and caring. He made it possible for me to enjoy playing golf again and for that I am very grateful to him.
