Had a fantastic time testing VO2 Max at NYC Performance Labs. Everything about the experience was above and beyond. The facilities were up to date and very well maintained. The equipment was top of the line. Staff were super accommodating and helped walk me through the process step by step, including a thorough post-test review which I found super helpful (Shout out to Ben). Lastly, it was it one of the more affordable testing options in the city. I would highly recommend.

I recently did VO2 max testing and a DEXA body composition scan at Performance Lab, and it was a great experience.
I enjoy understanding the data behind my health and performance, and the testing gave me a lot of useful insight. Syd conducted my VO2 max test and did an excellent job explaining the results in a way that was easy to understand. It’s one thing to get a report full of numbers, but Syd really helped break down what they mean and how they apply to my training and conditioning.
Cheryl handled my DEXA scan and made the process quick and smooth. The results gave me a very clear baseline for my body composition that I can track over time, which is really helpful if you’re serious about improving fitness or monitoring progress.
What makes Performance Lab stand out is that it’s not just testing and scans. They provide a full support system around the data. Jackie, their nutritionist, checks in regularly and helps keep me on track with my diet. Drew, the personal trainer, built a structured program focused on improving my strength, endurance, and overall performance. Steve from Recalibrate PT is also part of the team as the physical therapist, which adds another level of support to help keep everything moving in the right direction.
With the level of sports performance testing, nutrition guidance, and training support they provide, you would think you are preparing for a professional fight. I’m not a professional athlete, just someone who trains Muay Thai to stay in shape, but having access to this kind of data and support has been really valuable.
Overall, the experience has been very organized and supportive. If you are interested in VO2 max testing, DEXA scans, body composition analysis, or improving your overall performance with real data and expert guidance, I would definitely recommend Performance Lab.

Came for a DEXA and 3D body scan. Well-appointed space with workout equipment up front and the body scanning section separated at the back. The scans were easy, I received a printout right away and emailed PDF after and the 3D body scan is uploaded to an app for review at any time. I was also able to discus the results right away (although this may typically occur at a video appointment later). All in all it was fast, informative, and exactly what I was looking for. I have not done a VO2 max before but if I do, I would definitely consider doing it here.

I cannot say enough good things about NYC performance lab, I wish you could give more than 5 stars. I went in for a simply DEXA scan and not only was their facility clean and comfortable, but everyone who I met and worked with that day was super friendly and even more knowledgeable. I mentioned in passing that I had a stress fracture from running so they also brought out their running specialist to talk with me when we were going through my DEXA results. They took their time to walk me through everything in my DEXA results, help me to understand them, and share recommendations/insights based on the results with a focus on the specific topics/areas of concern I had shared. I also spent a good bit of time talking with their running specialist who was so kind and so knowledgeable, and gave me a solid plan for how to come back from my stress fracture to avoid reinjuring myself. I probably spent 30 minutes to an hour talking through my results with the team and also talking about a recovery plan for my stress fracture and I'm so grateful for the time they spent with me, the DEXA Scan was well worth it. Later that day I was so pleasantly surprised to find a very detailed write-up of everything we had discussed in our conversation (my results, my specific goals, and my recovery plan for the stress fracture) in my inbox which I was not at all expecting.
Everyone I spoke to was so kind, helpful, and genuinely passionate about what they were doing that I asked to hear a little bit more about what else they do / what they focus on in the NYC performance lab. I'll try to keep this short but in a nutshell it seems like they are very focused on providing holistic support and coaching for anyone who has athletic/fitness/health goals and would like guidance/coaching in achieving these goals. They've got a highly trained/educated staff of nutritionists, physical therapists, trainers, and technicians on staff and the facilities are amazing. Membership isn't cheap but it honestly seems like it's worth it for the type of support you get and I'm sure that achieving one's own athletic / health goals happens much more quickly with this level of support. I'm strongly considering investing in a membership and coaching once I'm all healed up from my stress fracture....but even if all you want is a DEXA scan I think it's worth it to do it here where you'll get such a thoughtful and holistic experience in going through your results.

I initially scheduled a DEXA through my doctor’s office, but the $500 price tag for just the scan made me look elsewhere. I expected to pay out of pocket—most insurance won’t cover it before 65, which is ridiculous—but the cost pushed me to search for other options. That’s how I found NYC Performance Lab.
From the start, my experience was positive. I actually reached a real human on the phone (rare these days!), Rochelle, whose warmth and clarity immediately made me feel like this was the right choice. She also conducted my scans and was both personable and meticulous.
Afterward, Ian walked me through the results with a thoughtful, comprehensive assessment. He offered detailed recommendations on optimizing my health—no upselling, no rushing, just genuine expertise. Every question I asked was answered thoroughly. I even started taking notes, and Ian kindly let me know he’d email a full recap, and he delivered. And the overview wasn't cookie cutter as it was filled with personal references to our actual conversation.
I went in for scans and left with so much more. I’ve already recommended NYC Performance Lab to several friends and would urge anyone seeking a DEXA scan or health-span support to choose them over a doctor’s office. When I shared my results with my doctor, I received a generic, copy-and-paste response—nothing like the meaningful guidance I received here.
