About this clinic

Biofeedback & Counseling, located in Ada, Oklahoma, offers neurofeedback and biofeedback training alongside individual, family, and marital counseling. Neurofeedback is a neuromodulation approach that provides real-time feedback on brain-wave activity to support self-regulation and address attention, mood, and behavioral patterns. Biofeedback uses physiologic monitoring—heart rate, muscle tension, skin conductance—to help patients recognize and modify autonomic responses linked to stress and chronic pain. The clinic positions these modalities as adjuncts to counseling rather than standalone interventions, making them suitable for patients across the lifespan seeking integrative approaches to mental health, emotional regulation, and pain man

Used biofeedback on my son years ago when he was in grade school for his ADHD. I did not want to medicate him like all the school administration suggested. We did biofeedback for a good year and the next year the teaching staff said it was a totally different kid. Biofeedback works if you are consistent! It's brain training so you have to be patient and give your brain time to learn the new pathways. Please try this before medicating.

Important announcement: The therapists are not trained to perform neurofeedback. I received a test result showing that, due to the poor practice of neurofeedback, I developed a tension headache I told the therapist, and she claimed “I had headaches before “ where I was certain that the neurofeedback had caused it, it's no normal to have a migraine and tension extent. There wasn't even a word of concern or apology from the clinic or therapist. I've been to a neurologist and several other specialists because of this incident, spending a considerable amount of money trying to understand the source of my pain. The therapist wasn't very helpful in her "correction" and implied that my pain was due to a previous headache. I had to leave the session because I felt very uncomfortable and in pain, and I told the therapist this. I've never had pain for days, much less tension for months. The clinic completely refused to help, saying it was impossible for me to have those symptoms, even though all the information available states that it can cause them. Be very careful about undergoing this "non-invasive" therapy at this clinic, your brain can be significantly affected.

Had some extreme stress and other issues at work so took an approved leave of absence to get re-centered. Started seeing Michelle Price at Biofeedack in Ada and it seemed like all she wanted to do was get me to admit I wanted to hurt someone. While telling me she was a former social services worker and could have my kids taken away if she believed I wasn't being truthful with her. What type of counselor uses threats to help a situation? I would not reccommend this place to anyone who is seeking help with mental health issues. They don't have any type of real doctors on staff. They only have counselors and clinical social workers. If you are serious about helping yourself, you would be better served finding a different provider than Biofeedback in Ada.
