Today was my first visit with Reginald and Emma, his assistant. Both were very friendly and took time to get to know me as a person, not just a patient. I appreciated so much their attention to details, their friendly demeanor, and that I wasn't on a "patient assembly line" that typically rushes people in and out. First impressions are huge, and I'm proud to have found Active Life bc of their personalized care.

The best decision I made recently was to Google weight loss/ hormone therapy and came across Active Life Hormone, located in the front of Kingwood on N bound feeder road in the same parking lot as Union Kitchen.
The experience with Dr. Reginald Reed has exceeded my expectations in so many areas. His personable demeanor, professionalism and proficient medical knowledge has made me feel at ease with each visit and the results have been amazing!! I highly recommend Active Life Hormone for your medical needs, weight loss and hormone replacements as well, for men or women. It will be the best decision you make as well!

You should at least apologize to the woman below who's hair you made fall out!
First, he answers his business line just saying “hello” so it caught me off guard and is unprofessional. The online scheduling does not work properly according to the nurse practitioner/ owner Reginald Reed yet he has not made an attempt to fix it. I made an appt for the next day at 8:30am but that morning they arbitrarily sent me another appointment date and time without notice and with no phone call to clarify the last minute change. Concerned bc they took my credit card information online for missed appointment fees I called the morning of my appointment while I was on my way to it after working all night.
When I called to question the last minute changed date and time Mr Reed spent several minutes telling me all about his duties at the hospital and his scheduling complexities, which honestly we all have. I didn’t bother telling him I worked all night and made the appointment for the first chance I could the very next morning and was exhausted, he lacked the empathy to even care that I had scheduling issues myself.
I rescheduled my appointment yet their automated service continued to send me messages about the old appointment time that I never made. I thought they might charge me a missed appointment fee so I called to straighten it out again!. Even after all the communication about the rescheduled appt they still called me the day of the “never scheduled” appt telling me I’m late for the appointment that I didn’t even make!
Then, the day of the second attempt at an appointment Mr Reed texts from a random number to cancel due to a power outage an hour before my appointment and doesn’t even say who he is in the text message. When I call to discuss it he sounded like he was in his car driving. He starts to raise his voice and insists on having me take the appointment via telehealth which I told him I did not want to do but at this point when I've taken time off of work and was driving to his office I'd have to pull over on the road and pull up the telehealth app in my car on the side of the road in 40 degree weather. I tell him no I'm not going to do that and to just cancel my appointment that I'm no longer interested. I didn't appreciate the way he raised his voice at me over the phone and told him he was very unprofessional in the text afterwards.
I assume it’s a very small business but still they could be more professional with their communication and dependability. unfortunately my experience with just trying to get an initial appointment was so frustrating that I rather not have to try to also have him juggle my personal health and make mistakes with that as well. It’s a “No” for me. Good luck.
Update: just one day after telling him I’m no longer interested in scheduling with him and blocking his number I assume he reads this review and rather than respond to it professionally and apologize for having me take time off from work to make the appointment and then canceling the 2:30pm appt at 1:25pm he texted me this morning at 6am!! with his petty sarcastic remarks. I think this person might be a little unstable mentally. Beware. Do not give him your credit card information.
Update 2: he's still texting me even though I've asked him to stop. And now he's getting cursed out. But still won't stop bothering me from different numbers.

A Long but Informative Review
Please Read!
I first met Mr. Reed in July of 2024 in hopes of correcting some symptoms of perimenopause like hot flashes, low libido etc..& maybe even drop a few pounds.
After reviewing my medical history and even my most recent lab results, he first prescribed a hormone cream.
Unfortunately, the directions were short and vague and the dispenser itself would produce inconsistent amounts upon being handled. Unknowingly, I ended up using way too much product because of this.
After a month of use my testosterone had skyrocketed and I began losing hair! What!? Horrible..
During this time, I also had began using tirzepetide, (Mounjaro) injections for weight loss. After one month, no results.
In hindsight, I should have cut my losses right there. However, against my better judgment, I continued on.
After stopping the hormone cream, I continued another two months with the weight loss injections. I did finally lose only about six pounds. Ok but not great results.
During this time Mr. Reed also reviewed my thyroid labs. He informed me that my current medication (Armour) was not accurate enough and did not provide the proper amount of t4 and that my lab results reflected this. He urged me to change to the mainstream medicine, levothyroxine. Even thoI felt great on Armour..
Mr. Reed is not an Endocrinologist, he is not even an MD. He is a nurse practitioner. Not only was switching this medication a bad idea, (A good doctor knows you can’t always go by just labs, you have to investigate and also listen to the patient and how they feel). He also failed to prescribe the equivalent dose! A Negligent Error!
After 3.5 mo I decided to go back to my Endo Dr to see why I was feeling so bad. After running new labs, I was horrified to learn that not only had all of my thyroid levels flatlined and crashed I was in a thyroid storm. I had only been getting 50mcg and I should have been on at least 137-150. A huge discrepancy that went on nearly 4 months!! I utterly regret trusting him. This negligent, uninformed error has now cost me my once very good and in stable health, my time and money…
Due to these changes, my digestive system basically shut down completely causing severe and chronic constipation. So much so, that I was taken to the ER on December 3rd, 2024 with diverticulitis that had of course developed due to my weakened digestion. This was so excruciatingly painful and difficult to recover from. I was grateful to be feeling better by Christmas.
My hair loss has also increased so dramatically that it has left me with a lot of visible scalp on the top of my crown. As a woman, this is devastating and heartbreaking. I am still currently losing hair and I have no idea when it will stop. This has been the hardest setback of all. I now have to find ways to hide my hair loss when I go out in public or am around people.
This will take months to recover from, if not years. I have also gained back all of the weight and more that I lost while taking the weight loss shots! A total of 9-10 pounds that I did not have on my body before meeting Mr. Reed.
I also have not heard from him or anyone else from his office. No one has bothered to contact me in anyway for patient care, aftercare or for any further or future care since changing my thyroid medication.
I am still recovering and will be for the next several months to stabilize my health and hormones. I encourage anyone and everyone to consider other options for medical treatment for weight loss, hormone therapy or any other medical condition. (Check the facts about the shots folks! You not only lose fat but they cause MUSCLE LOSS as well) Something I wish I had known beforehand…
This guy is only in it for the money, not the patients!! He is more than willing to take big risks without considering the outcome. If you value your health, your time and your wallet, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Do your research to find a medical professional who actually knows and understands patient care is and should be the Number One and FIRST Top Priority.
