What is Periodontal Disease Treatment?
Periodontal disease, or more commonly gum disease, is a chronic inflammation of the gums, connective tissues, and bones around the teeth. This disease has a progressive course, starting from gingivitis, which involves irritation and bleeding of the gums, to periodontitis, where inflammation and a lack of microbial balance cause destruction of the tissues, formation of pockets, and loss of support by the bone.
The regenerative approach thus aims to reestablish the microbial balance, reduce inflammation, strengthen tissue integrity, and support whole-body health in view of creating a stable and resilient oral environment.
