We pulled every published HBOT session price we could verify on live clinic websites and hospital marketplaces in July 2026. The result: 27 price observations across 17 states. The median single-session price is $200. The full range runs from $80 for a mild soft-shell session in upstate New York to $1,029 for a hospital visit in Illinois.

Three pricing tiers show up clearly in the data. Wellness studios running mild chambers publish prices of $80 to $125. Independent clinics with hard-shell chambers publish $150 to $300. Hospital wound care programs, visible through the MDsave marketplace, sit at $431 to $1,029 per visit, against MDsave’s estimated national average billed rate of $1,955. Every row below is a real price published by a named clinic or listed on a public marketplace, recorded in July 2026. Prices are for a single session unless noted. Chamber type is listed only where the source states it.

The cheapest published prices in the survey came from upstate New York, Arizona, and Utah, where single sessions start at $80 to $95. The priciest observations were hospital rates: $1,029 in Jerseyville, Illinois and $622 in Pasadena, Texas. Among standalone clinics, Hollywood, Florida topped the table at $300 for a hard-shell session, with Colorado Springs close behind at $249. Why Prices Vary So Much

An $80 session and a $1,029 session are not the same product. Three factors explain most of the spread.

Chamber class

Mild chambers, usually soft-shell units at around 1.3 ATA, are cheap to buy and cheap to run. Hard-shell chambers rated for 2.0 ATA and above cost far more to install, staff, and maintain, and they deliver 100 percent oxygen at true clinical pressure. Indication and supervision

Hospital programs treat approved medical indications with physician oversight, and their pricing reflects that. MDsave lists hospital HBOT visits at $431 to $1,029 upfront, against an estimated national average billed rate of $1,955. Wellness studios sell the same hour of chamber time without the medical wrapper.

Local market

Mild vs Clinical Pricing: The Split in the Data

The survey shows a clean two-tier market. Sessions explicitly sold as mild or soft-shell (Lancaster, Colorado Springs, Hadley, plus the Las Vegas soft-shell range) run $60 to $125, with a median of $95. Sessions explicitly sold as hard-shell or 2.0 ATA and above run $150 to $300, with a median of $225. That makes clinical HBOT roughly 2.4 times the price of mild HBOT per session in the July 2026 data.

The gap matters because the two products are not interchangeable. Mild chambers do not reach the pressures used in the clinical evidence base for wound healing, radiation injury, or other approved uses. The Insurance Reality

Insurance, including Medicare, pays for HBOT only for FDA-cleared indications: conditions like diabetic foot ulcers, radiation tissue damage, decompression sickness, and carbon monoxide poisoning. Everything else is cash pay. Published package pricing in this survey cut per-session costs by 10 to 55 percent. Concrete examples from the data:

• Buy in packs. OxyRenew in West Hollywood drops from $240 to $180 per session on a 20-pack. Healthy Self ATL in Atlanta drops from $150 to $80 per session on a 40-pack. Extivita in Durham sells 10-packs at $157.50 per session.
• Use memberships. InsideOut Hyperbarics in St. George discounts sessions to as low as $51 with a membership. RX-O2 in Arizona runs a $815 per month membership covering 6 sessions.
• Check tiered rates. Pioneer Valley Hyperbaric in Massachusetts drops its rate automatically as you accumulate sessions, from $125 down to $75.
• Price hospital care through marketplaces. MDsave listed the same hospital visit type at $431 to $1,029 upfront versus a $1,955 average billed rate.
• Compare pressure tiers. If your goal only calls for lower pressure, the mild tier costs less than half the clinical tier.
