The lobby was torn apart when I came the first time. There was no place to sit and fill out paperwork so they put me in a room with chairs that was like a construction zone with fish tank parts everywhere. It felt really unprofessional and it seems unsanitary to have birds in the lobby. This is a place where people are coming that may have anxiety or other hardships and having annoying chirping constantly was hard for me to focus and feel like it was a calm safe space. Also I was told I would be seen by one doctor and then another person took me back I didn’t know their credentials or who they were. And mid session someone barged in the room to deliver coffee. This felt like a violation of privacy and very unprofessional to think it’s ok to enter a session while a patient is in there talking about personal information. Also in the blood draw room there were other patients urine out on display and I could see all their information and it was disturbing to see other peoples urine 2ft away from my face while getting my blood drawn. This place is so unprofessional. The owner walked in with his dog and cat the second time I arrived and I am an animal lover but it seems unsanitary in a doctors office and inconsiderate of peoples allergies. This should be communicated when scheduling your first appointment that there are birds, fish, cats and dogs in this building. Also you can hear everything through the walls.

NP Daniel Chaftez is not a doctor, no it’s true. He’s an NP. But does that make him any less of a true physician?? I think the care I received from him was absolutely phenomenal. It was truly life changing, the conversations we had. He’s an amazing man with a great, open, kind and compassionate heart (and true empathy). I HIGHLY recommend this practice. OMG! And the empathy extends to little baby animals (and full grown fur children) that you can see in the practice rooms. I watched Dr. Chaftez (yes, I said “Doctor”) feed a baby kitten some food while the kitten stood on his shoulders. It was so heartwarming. I left there with NO bad feelings.

Amazing staff. I was treated poorly today by Codac and talked to like a child. I have a chronic agoraphobia disorder plus panic disorder. It was demeaning and hurtful and left in tears. I called DS and immediately was told I could be seen on Tuesday for an evaluation and medication as I expressed I was having a lot of issues since my primary left. They were able to get me an appointment so I could function and live my day to day life and I greatly appreciate that. Thank you! Update: I’ve been with my new provider FaeLynn for 3 months and the service has been amazing. All of my medications are so much easier to track now, they make sure my fills are sent in without my having to call and beg, and Daniel (I believe the owner) has the most beautiful kitty in the office and some gorgeous fish tanks. Very serene, clean, and peaceful environment, I have bad agoraphobia and I feel safe at Desert Sage. I cannot Say that about any other doctor I’ve seen in the past.
