About this clinic

Tucson Behavioral Health Services, in Tucson, provides Ketamine Therapy for treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, and related conditions. The clinic specializes in ketamine-assisted treatment as a clinical protocol, positioning it as an option for patients who have not responded adequately to conventional pharmaceutical or talk-therapy approaches. Treatment is individualized following an initial psychiatric evaluation, and patients receive clinical monitoring throughout the course of therapy. The practice emphasizes the integration of ketamine treatment within a broader mental-health framework rather than as an isolated intervention. Ongoing psychiatric support is available to contextualize the therapeutic effects and guide longer-term care planning.

Dr. Kioko is amazing. I have been seeing her almost 3 years now. She is incredibly patient, and truly is there to help. She listens and acknowledges what is going on in ones life. She adjusts medications to fit the issues at hand, and never over medicates to mask the issues. She truly cares about ones mental well-being. I am incredibly thankful for her help. She has made a huge difference in my mental health and continues to with her expertise.

Esther Kioko is my absolute hero! I went to see her as a new patient after almost a decade of playing what I call “medication roulette” with psychiatrists for my trifecta of ptsd, major depressive disorder, & anxiety. I came here with a long list of medications I’ve tried in the past & hoping to get put back on a specific medication I was on a couple years ago, but what I got was so much better than that! After digging into my history with mental health meds & if they actually helped or hindered me, Dr. Kioko suggested trying an in-office treatment called transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) & at first, I was incredibly skeptical about it working, but figured it was worth a shot. I’m so glad that I gave it the chance, because IT REALLY HAS! Don’t let the smaller office fool you, this place has had such a HUGE impact on my life & I’ve only been going there for under 3 months. Dr. Kioko & her team are TRULY amazing! I don’t think I’ve ever felt so mentally stable in my life & I really owe that to them! Anyone who’s ready to try something other than medication roulette & take back your mental health, I can’t stress enough just how much I recommend going to see Dr. Kioko!

Because of the insurance I had, the interaction with just inquiring about services could be discouraging and hurtful to someone who is looking for services. She may be a good provider for the privileged, but biases so openly displayed are harmful and contribute to the destructive stereotypes (Later edit) to top it off, rather than call to Apologize for the offense of such inconsiderate behavior from a professional, she calls me to demand if I know how insurances work. It’s not about the insurance and that your services are only accessible to those with privileges , it’s about your lack of empathy or sympathy and your apparent superiority complex because you have your own “private practice” it’s people like you that damage those of us struggling to find quality care, never the less fight the unjust wealth distribution
