For two years I had issues with the metatarsal area of my foot. I got a recommendation for a podiatrist from my PCP. After being diagnosed with Morton’s neuroma and after 7 months of treatment, I saw no relief. She then referred me to Atlanta Sports Podiatry. Dr. Spector evaluated my foot and agreed with the diagnosis of the neuroma; however, he also discovered that I had bone stress. The treatment he recommended was shock wave therapy and nerve injections. He explained each process thoroughly and in a way that was easy to understand. After each treatment I saw improvement. After 5 treatments (5 weeks) I was back to normal! For the first time in 2 years I could walk without pain! Dr. Spector also recommended the proper shoes for continued relief. I would highly recommend Atlanta Sports Podiatry to anyone with foot issues - Dr. Spector and his friendly staff are top notch!

Dr. Spector is incredibly kind and knowledgeable, with a great bedside manner that immediately puts you at ease. His expertise and skill are evident in every aspect of his care. Best podiatrist in Atlanta. Dr. Spector does not mask your foot pain with injections. He listens to your symptoms and does a thorough exam to get you on the right treatment plan. I couldn’t be happier with my amazing results from the shock wave therapy. Well worth the one hour drive to be pain free. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went here due to some pain in one of my feet and to understand my running dynamics a little better because I am training for an ultra-marathon. 1. We did my gait test and the problem that was diagnosed was... my arms aren't swinging far enough! Great. I mentioned to the DR that I'm going for 40 miles at around a 11-12/m pace so at that speed you aren't typically moving fast enough or carrying poles so that isn't a feasible solution. His response? No no no, you need to swing your arms! 2. The only possible solution for my pain is the Radial Shockwave Therapy which is $200 a session and not covered by insurance. Nice! I denied this and instead continued to do different ankle and toe exercises and the problem went after a couple weeks. 3. "Heel striking is bad" Man. When he told me this, this is when I knew he has some rather obvious biases. This idea has been disproven over and over again in running literature. I came to get suggestions and advice. Instead I left with 3 sheets of generic exercises and the idea that I can only fix my pain by doing 4-5 $200 sessions with the doc.

Dr. Spector is awesome. I went to him for an ingrown toenail, which he fixed during the initial visit, as opposed to a follow-up with only an assessment during the initial visit. His staff was very friendly and helpful. He even offered for me to text him if I had any questions about the healing process, and this seems standard as his phone # was on the post-op instructions. He seems to care about training the next generation; he had 3 people shadowing my toenail procedure while he did the work himself. I'm a runner and also took advantage of his running form analysis. He did this outdoors which I was impressed by; many other providers will do this on a treadmill. He's a runner too! He's run many marathons (just did London) and was definitely a good chat. Also very efficient, no fuss, all around a great experience.
