About this clinic

Dana Behavioral Health, a mental health clinic in Boston, specializes in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) alongside medication management for patients with treatment-resistant depression and other mood disorders. TMS is a non-invasive neuromodulation therapy that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate brain regions implicated in depression and anxiety. The clinic offers TMS as an evidence-based alternative or adjunct to pharmaceutical treatment, particularly for patients who have not responded adequately to antidepressant medication or who experience significant side effects. Treatment plans are individualized following an initial psychiatric evaluation, and patients receive ongoing monitoring throughout their course of therapy. The practice combines TMS protocols with traditional psychiatric care and medication management, supporting a comprehensive approach to mental health.

After filling out an online intake form and leaving multiple voicemails with the intake team, it took a month and a half to receive a generic email stating that DBH is not the most appropriate fit for my care. Given how general my request was, I suspect they just didn’t have openings for providers who take my insurance. That could have easily been communicated much sooner and someone could have answered the phone even once. Fortunately, I found a provider elsewhere.

Used DBH for around a year for therapy and medication management. I have pretty horrible ADHD, so establishing routine times and days for appointments is crucial. Rather than accommodating this, I was booked at a different time and day every week (some weeks not at all). This lead to many missed appointments, and I was eventually threatened with cessation of services. They’ve now dropped my insurer, which was the final nail in the coffin. Can’t say they’ve done much of anything for me in my time as a patient. Avoid if you have other options available.

DO NOT GO TO DBH!! Billing department overcharged and incorrectly charged me numerous times this year and has been unresponsive for months, despite countless emails and calls and requests to escalate to leadership. Received a voicemail my provider is suddenly no longer practicing with them. Hopeful she got out before they take her down with their fraudulent billing practices. You’d think they’d learn from a recent legal charges, nope. Escalating this repeat fraud to Attorney General.
