Im giving one star just so I can write the review. I am extremely disappointed with the way this organization handled my billing. I provided my insurance information before my first visit. I spoke with my insurance to ensure that would pay for services ar this organization. Yet they failed to file the claim correctly. Instead, they withdrew the full payment ($640.00)directly from my account. I contacted my insurance company and NOT ONE CLAIM WAS SUBMITTED FOR THE DOS on my invoice.
Despite making several calls to speak with someone about billing, prior to ever getting an official bill. I never received a call back. On my patient portal I could view an invoice but no amount was due stating services were being billed to my insurance first...LIES. To make matters worse, when I finally receive an invoice for services completed back in January 2025 on September 7, 2025 via email they withdrawn the full payment of $640.00from my account on September 10, 2025. Mind you I've tried to contact this place MANY TIMES just to check the status on my services being filed to my insurance. I have spoken to my insurance weekly since March to see if my services were filed and NOTHING. Again trying to call Discover Yourself Wellness Center to see why my services were not filed yet. Left voicemail after voicemail with NO RETURN CALL. I would NOT RECOMMEND this place for a roach bug to get help.
This type of behavior is completely unacceptable and demonstrates poor communication and customer service. I would not recommend this company to anyone. IF YOU ARE READING REVIEWS TO DETERMINE IF THIS IS A GOOD PLACE...

I’ve been a patient at Discover Yourself Wellness since 2019 and have consistently had positive experiences with the providers themselves—they are compassionate, professional, and truly supportive. However, my experience with the billing department has been deeply disappointing.
Like others have noted, the billing practices are poorly managed and lack transparency. Without any prior notice, I was charged over $300 for services dating back several months. This occurred because the billing department had not yet received payment from my insurance company. While I understand that insurance payments can be delayed—something well-known in the mental health field—I found it upsetting that the practice chose to pass this burden onto me, a long-standing patient, rather than following up directly with the insurance provider.
Despite having signed automatic billing forms, I was shocked to see this charge processed without any communication. I made multiple attempts to reach the billing department via phone but received no response for two days. It was only after asking my provider to intervene that I finally received a call back.
During the call, I explained how the sudden billing and lack of communication made me feel blindsided and unfairly treated. I also reminded them that this was not the first issue—I previously experienced a bizarre situation where they deposited a large sum into my account and immediately withdrew it. I expressed that if such issues persisted, I might be forced to leave the practice even though I had a long history with my provider.
While they did refund the amount, they also cancelled all my future appointments with no notification, leaving me without a plan for continued care or a proper transition. I found this behavior especially irresponsible for a mental health practice, where continuity and trust are essential.
I do not recommend this practice to anyone planning to use insurance for payment. The providers may be excellent, but the administrative side is disorganized, unresponsive, and at times, dismissive and disrespectful. For a practice centered around mental health, I expected more care, professionalism, and empathy.

As a professional, I've had lots of great interactions with many of the staff at Discover Yourself Wellness Center. Their policies have always been clearly communicated, staff are helpful with referrals and questions and my emails and calls are always promptly returned. I'm amazed at the diversity of clinicians working at the center. It seems like a great place to seek help.

My therapist was great. But the billing practices of this company are ridiculous. Spent MONTHS calling my insurance company to figure out what was going on (seems like the $0 invoices are a regular occurrence from all of these reviews) and my insurance company told me how uncommon this was and how the way they are billing (up to 6 months AFTER service, within their legal limit but extremely disorganized and unprofessional) does not seem like good practice. When your insurance company recommends you find a new therapist because of the billing department (which did not even have a working phone number to contact), there's a problem there. Already reported them to my insurance to get them removed from coverage. DO NOT attempt. So sad for these therapists.
Edit to add- so nice that this company responds to negative reviews within 30 minutes of the post, but when my insurance company calls 3 TIMES to support their client, no answer. Again, very unprofessional. They willingly throw their therapists under the bus saying they don't know how to use the right codes, so it tracks that they would blame these issues on clients as well. Do not risk the stress to your mental health.
