About this clinic

Satriano Physiotherapy, a regenerative physical medicine clinic in Lutherville, Maryland, specializes in shockwave therapy and dry needling for musculoskeletal pain and soft-tissue injury. Shockwave therapy uses acoustic pulses to stimulate tissue repair and reduce inflammation in chronic conditions such as tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, and joint pain. Dry needling targets trigger points in muscle tissue to relieve tension and improve function. I came in last December with debilitating pain in my hips and back at age 27. I had tried all the programs, seen all the experts, and been misdiagnosed many times over, sometimes resulting in treatments that only made my symptoms worse. I had suffered since age 11, and I worried that no one was capable of helping me. Then I met Rob. His genuine curiosity and stunning depth of knowledge showed me instantly that he was not another generic PT with textbook exercises; he was a full partner and mentor in my recovery. Rob exudes expertise that I suspect outshines that of most or all orthopedic surgeons--including my own orthopedic surgeon, with whom I am extremely satisfied--and truly listens to me discuss my (rapid) progress at each and every session. With his guidance, I have gone from being unable to walk or get out of bed without severe pain to preparing for ultramarathons and wrestling competitions. I have gone from feeling crippled to feeling flexible and strong. I have gone from doubting my body to trusting it more and more each month. The best feeling is the confidence that I am now fully capable of achieving what I once was convinced was way out of reach. To call Rob a physical therapist would be reductive because he is a holistic healer. The testimonials on his website all speak honestly to the quality of experience that you can expect from him. I am not aware of another medical professional of any title who matches his skill, and his location in Baltimore is actually a reason for my choice not to move from the DMV to NYC. If you are seeking an irreplaceable provider of wisdom and growth, work with Dr. Rob.

I went to Dr. Rob after years of chronic lower back pain. He educated me on what he thought was happening and put together a plan to fix it. After the first dry needle visit I immediately felt better, and it continued to improve each session. The stretch/strengthening plan he provided was easy and super helpful. Aside from his skill/knowledge, he has incredible bedside manner and is just a good person. I enjoy catching up with him during each visit and walk out feeling great! Do not hesitate going to him - he’s the BEST around!

Meeting Rob changed my life. I was having knee issues to the point that I couldn't go up and down steps without significant pain. I was in my thirties at the time. I had made the rounds to various orthopedists and highly regarded PTs, and I wasn't making progress. The knee pain led to hip issues. One ortho gave me pain meds and suggested that I sell my stair-based house. After two years of struggling with knee issues and pain, working with Rob radically shifted my situation. I started to improve with a combination of PT and dry needling. I still work with Rob for tune-ups if I have an issue but over the past couple of years I've hiked, visited multiple national parks, and take the stairs all the time. I don't take pain meds and I've avoided surgical intervention (side note, multiple orthopedists recommended surgery for my hip). In short, if you are struggling, give Rob a call, maybe he can change your life too.
