New Mentality

When I started going to New Mentality 6 months ago, I didn't know how to control my feelings, I'd lash out at people and was a control freak. So, I was alienating myself from my coworkers, family and my home community. Of course, I'd been like this my entire life and I didn't like myself. I was greeted by Tracy and Allie Wilson, gently and with compassion. As I spoke to them with tears flowing, they calmly told me they can help me. I knew before hand, that they were not going to CURE me ,they were going to show me the way and I needed to do the work myself. I keep a diary, recording my negative and positive encounters with people, how it made me feel and what I did or didn't do about it. Allie, my counselor, guided me to help me SEE what I was doing and how to correct myself. We'd review these situations each week and I'd work on myself during the rest of the week. Soon, I started to stop myself from doing 'those things' almost automatically. Also, I started letting go, staying out of what has nothing to do with me and apologizing to people lashing out at them. I truly feel like a new person, a taller person with a NEW MENTALLY! I have a way to go but I thank God and all the people (especially Allie) at New Mentality for their Guidance, compassion and warmth.-

I hated the idea of therapy and tried it before and quit. This time go round I thought I found a place of comfortability. However that was very short lived. I ended up having more canceled appointments than actual sessions . They consistently called to cancel and say they would contact me back once they got their schedule together. I would never hear back from anyone. Called this morning and spoke with Susan and asked if they had worked out the kinks bcus no one has reached back out and I wanted to have something steady and stable to better assist my situation. And she said let me check with Tracey and let me see how many more EAP sessions you have?? Not sure what that has to do with my ongoing treatment and after that I pay out of pocket so….. But either way they answered my question without answering it. I will be seeking new counsel. If you need something dependable, reliable and consistent then this may not be the place for you.

New Mentality has been such a gift for our family. Our daughter has not only seen real improvements from neurofeedback, but she actually looks forward to her sessions because everyone makes her feel so comfortable and cared for. The staff is genuinely kind, encouraging, and easy to talk to, which has made the whole process feel less intimidating and more hopeful. If you’re on the fence and wondering if it really works — it does! We’re so grateful for the difference this place has made in her life (and ours).
