From the moment I got under Dr. Fuksina's care my life improved tremendously. Dr. Fuksina has adjusted my medication regiment and diet, and it had a great impact on my health. I switched to Dr. Fuksina’s office about a year ago, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. During my first visit for an annual checkup, Dr. Fuksina took the time to thoroughly review my medical history, which had been transferred from my previous office. For a very long time I was in the dark; I was having my mood swings, weight changes and experiencing issues with my sleep. Every time I got my anual check-up I was told “everything was fine.” My weight became a source of pain, frustration and made me feel depressed. I was working out 4x a week and eating healthy, yet I was far from getting to my ideal weight. It turns out being placed in the “perfect patient’ category” was the reason my symptoms were overlooked by doctors.Why do any further bloodwork on a perfect patient? I asked my OBGYN if taking hormones would be a good idea and he prescribed the Combipatch. Months of using the patches didn’t make a difference. Frustrated and feeling stuck, I started researching about the effectors of hormonal imbalance in women over 50, and learned about the benefits of bioidentical hormones. I was fortunate enough to have an expert near me and began seeing Dr. Fuksina. She immediately performed blood work to determine hormone and progesterone levels, which happened to be completely off. Dr. Fuksina started me on a bioidentical hormone therapy and pretty quickly started seeing results: my mood swings subsided, my energy level was back to normal and my sleep improved. Simultaneously, Dr. Fuksina started me on a weight-management plan; I lost close to 30 pounds! It is unfortunate and hard to believe hormone testing is not mandatory on annual checkups in women over 50. More needs to be done to get the word out! It could have certainly saved me so much time and pain. Thank you, Dr. Fuksina for everying you have done for me, for changing my life.
