Dr. Gentile is an excellent psychiatrist who is kind, patient, and understanding. He has helped me manage my anxiety in a way that feels supportive and personalized. I always feel comfortable speaking with him, and his care has truly made a positive impact on my life. His practice in Wyckoff, New Jersey is in a lovely, peaceful setting. I highly recommend him.

Writing this review so that hopefully people don’t make the same mistake I did. I saw Dr. Gentile back in 2018/2019, and I had previously written a review but removed it at Dr. Gentile’s request. But I’ve met people recently who have told me they are seeing Dr. Gentile for their mental health, and I felt inclined to share my story again. Firstly, Dr. Gentile doesn’t accept most if any insurances, so be prepared to pay ~$300 per visit. Dr. Gentile prescribed me Ketamine before it was approved for mental health issues. I was someone who struggled with addiction, and he gave me the most addictive prescription I’ve ever received. When I came to him to tell him I needed more help, we scheduled therapy sessions (which were the same $300 per visit). During these sessions, Dr. Gentile would repeatedly fall asleep while I would talk. It got so bad to the point where one session he started to snore so I got up to leave and he finally woke up. His way of apologizing and fixing this was purchasing himself a new chair which he claimed “would keep him upright and wouldn’t let him get too comfortable that way he couldn’t fall asleep.” I took this as a slight, but decided to give him one more chance. He had discussed adding me to a list for psilocybin, the chemical in magic mushrooms. Because of my past with drugs, I was skeptical but wanted to talk about it more so I scheduled another talk therapy session. Even with his ‘new chair’ Dr. Gentile proceeded to fall asleep on me again, and that was my last straw. To be paying $300 to be ignored and fallen asleep on is not only unprofessional but dangerous considering what I was going through at that time. I’m glad to say I moved on from Dr. Gentile and found a doctor who stays awake and doesn’t push medications. I share my story so that hopefully you don’t waste your money and don’t have your time wasted either. Dr. Gentile was the definition of a doctor who’s in it for the money, not to better his patients. I hope he’s changed over the years, but his treatment of me was so poor that I had to write something. Knowing others are seeing him has me concerned for them. So please be cautious.

Dr Gentile is a brilliant psychiatrist with a kind heart. I found him through a friend who has worked with him and known him for many years. He is innovative using the latest medications. He has helped me overcome my battle with depression. He is always available at just a phone call or text away. I highly recommend Dr. Gentille for anyone who wants to have access to your psychiatrist.
