From the minute I met April in her office at The Well, only days postpartum with my first baby, I felt truly seen and cared for. I was exhausted from unbearable pain and worry that my first breastfeeding journey was not at all what I was expecting or prepared for. April listened to my concerns with compassion and understanding, and found that my daughter had severe oral ties and body tension that were causing the issues. Through bodywork from April and an evaluation with Dr. Notestine, a pediatric dentist in Dayton, my daughter's oral ties were resolved and we experienced almost immediate relief while nursing. When I became pregnant with my youngest daughter, I worked with April through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She provided invaluable advice on caring for my body and baby, not only physically but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually as well. She didn't just ask about nutrition and supplements, she genuinely cared about my hopes and fears through the whole process. She championed my goals with me, always reminding me of my power as a mother to make the best decisions for myself and my baby. It's easy to see how passionate April is about her work and it shines through in how she cares for mothers, babies, and families. If you're looking for a midwife, doula, or lactation consultant that will join you on your journey—through all the highs and lows—and cheer you on every step of the way, you want April in your corner!

April has been an incredible support for us throughout my son’s oral tie procedures. She not only guided us through the process but also checked in on us multiple times to ensure everything was going well. She’s performed bodywork on my son several times, and it’s amazing to see the difference—he literally melts into her arms like a puddle. After weeks of tension from nursing with oral ties, her work brought him so much relief. April helped transform my son from a baby who cried more hours of the day than he slept into a happy, playful baby. Within a few weeks of his procedure, I barely recognized him—he was finally comfortable, content, and thriving! She truly listens and always reassures me that I’m doing my best as a mom, which is something I’ve needed so much during these postpartum months. She also partners with Dr. Notestine, allowing him to practice out of her facility, which meant my son could have his procedure done in a familiar, comforting environment without the long wait times of other places. She’s flexible with scheduling, and her passion for what she does is evident in every interaction. I couldn’t recommend April more—she’s been a lifesaver for both me and my son!

April saved breastfeeding for me- I just wish I found her sooner! I went through 6 weeks of awful pain, mastitis, and dreading feedings while meeting with 3 different lactation specialists that taught a method that was just not working for us- even after we had a tongue tie corrected at 2 weeks old. The way April handled and communicated with my baby was beautiful. She helped us both learn a new technique that was really so much simpler. My baby immediately had a better latch and was much more efficient getting the milk he needed. He became happier and I was able to heal. I now get to actually enjoy breastfeeding my baby which I have wanted so badly!
