I’ve had an excellent experience with Amy. She takes the time to really listen, explain things clearly, and look beyond surface symptoms to uncover the underlying causes of what’s going on. Her approach is thoughtful, evidence-based, and personalized — I’ve learned so much about my own health in the process. I highly recommend Charleston Functional Medicine. I had so many things going on when I first started seeing Amy at CFM and we have been able to address several already by getting to the true root of the problems (what do you know, many are/were connected:)). Amy listened patiently as I conveyed my whole story including my laundry list of symptoms and did not make me feel rushed as I had so often felt at other MD offices. I credit Amy's knowledge in several fields with how quickly we were able to get a solid plan in place with me already feeling a positive change. Her approach and expertise allow for addressing all concerns and symptoms from various angles vs having to see a different specialist for each body system. My experience in the past has been that different providers not communicate, but only isolate the symptom that's within their realm of medicine. You then often end up with side effects from one intervention that negatively impact something else that is also going on. Aside from her medical knowledge, Amy she is a wealth of resources for environmental concerns related to health (such as mold in my case) and can help with suggestions and interventions for your home that can help identify the source of symptoms and ways to address/remediate the environmental issues, too. I feel so relieved to be in the hands of someone who genuinely wants to help me, has gotten to know me quite well taking into account the whole picture of my life. Managing symptoms on a day-to-day basis as I am still healing has become much easier and less anxiety provoking which is something I deeply appreciate. I highly recommend Charleston Functional Medicine and Amy to anyone looking for a compassionate and highly competent healthcare provider who I promise will "get to the bottom of things".
