About this clinic

Mindpath Health Psychiatrists & Therapists, in North Charleston, provides transcranial magnetic stimulation and psychiatric care for patients with treatment-resistant depression and other mood conditions. TMS is a non-invasive neuromodulation therapy that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate brain activity, often pursued by patients who have not responded adequately to medication alone or who seek alternatives to pharmaceutical management. The clinic offers both in-person and telepsychiatry appointments, allowing flexibility for patients across a broader geographic area. Psychiatric evaluation and ongoing therapy support treatment planning and medication management where appropriate.

Front Desk service is amazing. But everything else is not. Saw a psychiatrist there for 2 years, missed 3 appointments in the span of 1 year, was recently hospitalized, and and just found out my Pyschiatrist is discharching me because of my last missed appointment. Mind you, I've paid for every missed appointment. People miss appointments. Mental health is not a joke. Don't discharge your patients without notifying them first and have some decency and respect for mental health patients. I'm being discharged and there is nothing I can do about it. So after two years with the same doctor, I have to find a new practice out of the blue. And I can't get any of the medication she was prescribing me.

Had a very disappointing experience with Nurse Practitioner, Maureen Apollo . She talked 90% of the time during my first visit. Especially on a first visit , a good practitioner, listens and gathers information rather than talking and being judgmental, and rattling off large amounts of “ Alleged “ data and statistical information ! of course there is a time & place for correct data and information to be conveyed to patients so they become best informed , empowered with knowledge & advocate for themselves. However, this is not often or probably ever on the first visit. It is such a missed opportunity, as a clinician to not actively listen to what a patient is saying at an appointment, and to actively observe their mannerisms , their speech pattern and everything that they bring to their appointment, especially at your first encounter with them . Maureen should take to lecturing, possibly in a college classroom or writing some papers with her expertise in data and statistics. clearly she does not have the skills or personality to have one on one patient contact and certainly not in the field of Mental Health, where patients need people to listen most and be calm , and less about their own agenda and personal opinions, and more about finding out how to best help and treat the patient and their diagnoses so they can live life to the fullest! Don’t waste your time with Miss Apollo , find someone who has more experience , empathy and possibly is board certified and better credentialed in addition to having better people skills. As if the visit wasn’t disappointing enough, I was shocked to see that she billed my insurance company over $1000 which is double if not, triple what a psychiatrist who is an actual MD bills for an in person visit as opposed to my virtual visit with Miss Apollo. Thankfully, I made sure that she was in network and my insurance paid their network agreed-upon fee, and I only paid my copayment. However, someone less fortunate who’s paying out-of-pocket or possibly going out of network may not be so fortunate and those billing practices should definitely be questioned.

Dr. Sinderman is incredible. I am so fortunate to have found him. Setting appointments is easy and not weeks out which helps a lot when you’re on new medications that may need adjusting. I feel like he truly cares about his patients. I have made huge strides in my mental health since becoming his patient.
