About this clinic

Border Pain Institute, a regenerative medicine clinic in El Paso, specializes in platelet-rich plasma therapy for chronic musculoskeletal and joint pain. The clinic approaches pain management by identifying underlying tissue pathology rather than relying on symptom suppression alone. PRP treatment leverages the patient's own blood-derived growth factors to support tissue repair and reduce inflammation in affected areas. The practice positions itself as an alternative to corticosteroid injections and opioid-based management for patients with soft-tissue injuries, tendinopathy, and degenerative joint conditions. Treatment plans are individualized following a diagnostic evaluation to confirm candidacy for PRP intervention.

Poor Communication is the Reason to Avoid this Practice: 1. When calling the office, I had to leave voice mail and wait for calls to be returned. It took 2 weeks to receive the initial appointment. 2. Poorly written orders for MRIs and X-Rays. The lab company that I went to needed clarification and so did I. The lab company waited two weeks for Dr. Viesca's Office to return their call. 3. I requested an appointment to discuss Dr. Viesca's Overall Pain Management Plan for my treatment with goals, projected outcomes, and expected costs 3 times with Dr. Viescas and 2 times with the nurse practitioners I met with for follow up visits. The Office said they needed to consult the NP and would call me with an appointment. There was no Call Back. 4. I was sent to the wrong facility for the 3rd injection. I called Dr. Viesca's Office several times only receiving voice mail. 5. I asked for a specific note for another doctor and paid $25. I received the synopsis of my last follow-up visit with the nurse practitioner. Again, another communication problem.

The Dr here is the best in town. That I've had the pleasure of getting to know and the staff is very helpful. I know that I'm in very good hands with Dr Carlos Viseca.nice clean office

I had surgery recently by Dr. Villesca. May God forgive what happened with the doctor's bedside manners after having a post-op patient follow up in his office. He was not the same caring doctor that was assuring me about my surgery, leaving me with high hopes. I was very discouraged from the lack of professionalism. I must urge doctors to remember their Oath that they took when they Chose to become a doctor. This does not mean you stop caring for that patient and hand them over. I must say Sandra, is an amazing NP, and has gone above and beyond and the Lord will reward her for her professionalism, compassion, and kindness. Thank you Sandra for your help and kindness.
