I recently had the pleasure of consulting with Dr. Mary Turner, along with their wonderful team, regarding my journey with menopause. I cannot express how grateful I am for their expertise and support. From the moment I stepped into their office, I was impressed by their organization and professionalism. The consultation was not only thorough but also incredibly informative. They took the time to listen to my concerns and provided clear, actionable strategies to help correct my symptoms. After visiting four different gynecologists without receiving satisfactory answers, I finally found the guidance I was seeking with Dr. Haver and her team. Following their recommendations to use estradiol patches, progesterone capsules, and supplements, I am feeling like myself again. Their approach is both compassionate and effective, making me feel understood and empowered in my health journey. I highly recommend Dr. Haver and Mary Turner to anyone looking for knowledgeable and supportive care during menopause. Thank you for making such a positive impact on my life! Claudia Stone

I want to start by thanking the team, because they helped me understand hormones in a way I hadn’t before. I now clearly understand that the three main pillars of hormonal health are progesterone, estrogen, and testosterone. From an educational standpoint, that part was valuable. However, I have to be honest and say that I was ultimately not satisfied with the service. First, paying $1,500 to be seen by a nurse practitioner should, in my opinion, include at least some follow-up care. About a year ago, the policy changed, and follow-ups now cost between $500 and $800. I find this completely unreasonable. I sent several emails and left voicemails requesting a refill of vitamin D and asking to adjust my estrogen patch. I never received a response. When I finally did hear back regarding changing my estrogen dose, I was informed that I would need to pay again hundreds of dollars just to send an email, receive a reply, and have a prescription sent to the pharmacy. I don’t remember the exact amount, but it was an excessive and unjustified fee. I understand that the founder, Dr. Marie Claire, whom I unfortunately did not have the opportunity to meet, is highly knowledgeable and has become very popular on TikTok. However, I felt that the team lacked empathy especially when working with women in perimenopause and menopause. It is very difficult to truly understand and support a woman going through this stage of life if you haven’t experienced it yourself. The practitioner I saw was clearly much younger than me, in a very different life stage, and it was evident that she could not fully understand what I was going through. Compassion and lived understanding matter deeply in this kind of care. I am not someone who leaves negative reviews. In fact, it took me a long time to save the money to pay for this service. I was in survival mode in my life at the time, and I did this because I truly needed help to keep going for my children, my job, my marriage, and myself. What I’ve realized is that I’ve continued learning on my own. I have essentially become my own doctor, figuring out through research and experience what works for me and what doesn’t. Unfortunately, the system here feels very protocol-based: you are given the same three hormones, adjusted slightly up or down, and then you are left to see how your body reacts. Knowing this now, I honestly believe that many women could receive similar care through a gynecologist, especially if they are willing to find one who truly listens. At least then, insurance might cover part of the cost, and women could avoid spending thousands of dollars out of pocket. This is a very personal opinion, but my intention is simply to prevent someone else from going through the same experience I did. To be clear, I was seen by a nurse practitioner. I don’t know if the experience would be different when seeing one of the doctors directly. This is simply my personal experience. What does not feel fair is paying such a high amount of money for one-hour visit, only to receive what appears to be a standard protocol given to everyone. I say this because I have four close friends who also went, four friends who invested the same one and all four of us were prescribed the same medications, sent the same supplements from the doctor’s brand, and all four of us are now dealing with the same issues. That, for me, speaks volumes.

I had an appointment with Mary Claire Wellness in April and I need to express what a wonderful experience I had. As soon as I walked into the door, I was greeted with a warm welcome by Deann. As she was getting me set up for my appointment with Joan Moss, the Nurse Practitioner, I felt like I was speaking to an old high school friend. I almost felt like this couldn’t be real life… aren’t doctor’s offices stuffy and cold. I felt it was too good to be true. When I met and sat with Joan Moss, she helped me feel at ease right away. She validated everything I had been feeling and experiencing while giving me the physiological reasons behind them with solutions. I never felt rushed and she made sure that I got the answers to all the questions I had before I left. At one point I was overwhelmed with gratitude at the comfort and ease of the appointment. I realized that it felt like I was hanging out with a friend that just happened to know all the answers to all of my menopause questions. We laughed, we shared menopause stories while also getting to the point of how to move forward with this new stage of my life. I came in confused and overwhelmed and I left feeling empowered and uplifted with answers and a plan. Thank you Joan, Deann, Kennedy, and Dr. Mary Claire Haver for such an amazing experience that day and for making such a difference in our lives. I traveled far and it was so worth it. So grateful!
