Long story short, I've had a shoulder SLAP tear for years and PT had been sufficient till I turned ~50. I was exploring surgery options when my PT mentioned PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) injection - and, remarkably, one simple procedure just plain worked. Seriously?!? Why is PRP treatment news to me, and why isn't PRP routinely employed prior to falling back to far more invasive surgery? I have zero clue. I do know that my shoulder hasn't felt this good in a looong time - 100% awesome sauce! Dr. Albert, thank you *very* much! 😀 ‐----‐------------------------‐------------------------------ For those interested in more detail: Dr. Albert (Kelsey) was exremely informative, transparent, and helpful. She did the initial Ultrasound at Vermont Regenerative, and it was frankly fascinating to see most of the trouble spots (real-time) while I was moving my arm. A follow-up MRI was done at OpenMRI to get a better view of occluded areas (i.e., regions shrouded by bone, hidden from the Ultrasound). Kelsey was very upfront that PRP doesn't always work - in my case (SLAP tear) she estimated a 60-70% likelihood of it helping. Pretty good, especially given the very limited downside (perhaps a ~week of discomfort). Given the guaranteed 3+ months of pain and downtime with surgery, this was a trivial decision - especially given PRP doesn't preclude surgery. The morning of the procedure I gave ~250ml of blood and then left for ~2 hours to get it centerfuged down to PRP. A few Ultrasound-guided injections from Kelsy later (not really painful, but definitely uncomfortable) and it was done. My shoulder felt odd for a ~week. That was ~3 months ago. I'm still getting used to my shoulder *not* causing me to wince when stressed in particular positions, but there's nothing - it just plain works. Wish everything worked out this way!

I have had PRP injections in my neck, feet, and lower back due to pretty severe osteoarthritis. Both Dr. Fenton and Dr. Albert performed the procedures. There are not enough stars to rate how life changing this has been for me. I was in excruciating neck pain with limited mobility for years. And now my neck is totally pain free. My foot pain was so bad that on certain days I was unable to walk. Now I can walk miles a day in total comfort. And I’m totally free from back pain. These doctors are miracle workers! The procedures are precise and basically pain-free. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough.

Dr. Fenton is amazing. I am a physician myself and am constantly impressed with his willingness to go above and beyond to give great care to his patients. His experience is so vast in what he does. He is open and honest with his patients. His staff is also so wonderful. I have recommended him to many and will continue to do so. I am sure I will be making the trip to see him for further care for my knee from Upstate NY for many years to come.
