About this clinic

Aleksey Lazarev M.D., an orthopaedic and sports-medicine surgeon in Sacramento, specializes in regenerative treatment of musculoskeletal and joint conditions. The practice offers platelet-rich plasma therapy for arthritis, tendinopathy, and soft-tissue injuries, positioning PRP as an alternative to or adjunct alongside conventional orthopaedic management. Treatment is individualized following clinical evaluation, and patients typically receive comprehensive assessment of their specific condition before a regenerative protocol is recommended. The clinic accepts new patients and focuses on those seeking to address degenerative joint disease and sports-related injury through evidence-based regenerative modalities rather than surgery alone.

This review is on behalf of my mom, Lyubov: My shoulder had been hurting for years. I saw multiple specialists who treated it but could not determine what was actually wrong. Several doctors suggested surgery, yet they were not confident about the outcome and told me they would “see what was going on” once they operated. I had numerous X-rays with varying reports and saw many physical therapists, but nothing improved. One morning I woke up in severe pain and my arm had completely stopped functioning. I couldn’t lift it, turn it, or move it at all. That’s when I went to see orthopedic surgeon Dr. Alexey Lazarev. After examining my shoulder and arm, Dr. Lazarev said he suspected a different issue than what the X-rays indicated. He believed I had a torn tendon and that my shoulder blade was out of place. An MRI confirmed his findings: one tendon was completely torn, part of another was torn, and my shoulder blade was misaligned. Dr. Lazarev explained that surgery is the only true repair for a torn tendon and that the procedure is complex, with a long and difficult rehabilitation process. He was honest in explaining that, given my age, recovery would likely be challenging and significantly impact my life. Instead of rushing to surgery, he showed empathy and provided guidance on safe movements I could do. He also referred me to an excellent physical therapist, Tyler, at Kime Performance in Sacramento. Thanks to Dr. Lazarev’s accurate diagnosis and Tyler’s dedicated therapy, I improved. It took hard work and consistency, and I still continue my exercises at home, but my arm is functioning again. I am so grateful that Dr. Lazarev looked deeper when others did not and helped me find another path forward. Thank you, Dr. Lazarev and Tyler, for your exceptional care.

Broke my collarbone in a biking accident on Feb 18. After trip to the ER e-rays indicated I'd need surgery. Called Lazarev Orthopedics on Feb 19th, left a message asking if I could get an appointment for a consult. By Feb 26th, still hadn't heard back. Poor communication, 1 star.

Dr Lazarev and his entire team provided excellent service throughout my knee surgery and postoperative care. They listened and addressed any and all concerns, providing detailed information on the progression of my recovery. A very professional and compassionate team, which I very highly recommend.
