Dr. Kizzy has helped me obtain a quality of life I didn't think was possible. I had lost faith in traditional doctors, having been told countless times from more doctors than I can remember that "I'm fine". I'd been through Kaiser, PAMF, Sutter Health; nobody would listen and nobody would help. I felt so hopeless, defeated and truly sick. I was experiencing debilitating fatigue, excruciating pain in my tailbone, extreme nausea, issues with overactive bladder, blood in my stool, a swollen abdomen, weight that I couldn't lose no matter what I tried ...the list goes on. Every day was a struggle and every day I felt so unwell, and there was no explanation. The nausea has been affecting me for over 30 years. The final straw that pushed me to find help outside of what my insurance would cover, was testing positive for colon cancer at 46.
I didn't really have the money to seek alternative care, but feeling like I was on the brink of death motivated me to reprioritize my life and figure it out. I found Dr. Kizzy out of sheer desperation. I chose her because of the reviews I read. I could write pages and pages about how wonderful she is, but to summarize, I feel amazing! I don't have colon cancer. I was completely misdiagnosed by Kaiser. They kept running the same tests over and over. They refused to deviate and expand the parameters of their testing even though I wasn't getting better. They told me my ailments were all in my head. Dr. Kizzy was able to determine I had SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth), H.pylori (very common, from food poisoning) and that my adrenal gland function was extremely low. I've been a patient of Dr. Kizzy for a little over a year now and for the first time in my entire life, I'm ok. I will be forever grateful for her help! She actually listened and cared.
· Debilitating Fatigue - Dr. Kizzy treated my adrenal gland function, and I have so much energy now!
· Excruciating Tailbone Pain - It was from chronic stress, which led to pressure and muscle tension in my pelvic floor muscles. She recommended an amazing therapist (Taryn Weinkam, PhD) who helped me release the trauma I've been holding onto for so many years. My pain is gone!
· Overactive Bladder - It was my body's response to being in a constant state of "fight or flight". The therapy helped with this as well, it's no longer an issue.
· Extreme Nausea - It was from H.pylori. Nausea is one of the main symptoms. If Kaiser or Sutter had run a simple test, this could have been diagnosed decades ago. My nausea is completely gone.
· Swollen Abdomen & Bloody Stool - Both of these were from SIBO and both are no longer present.
· Excess Weight - SIBO contributed to this, but so did the feeling of hopelessness. I credit both Dr. Kizzy and therapy. Our bodies react to our mental state. I've dropped 30 lbs and fit back into clothes I never thought I'd be able to wear again. There is really something to that whole "mind, body, spirit" thing 😊. I highly recommend Dr. Kizzy!

Dr Kizzy has helped me exponentially in the few months I have seen her compared to the many years I was seeing my other Holistic practitioner.
Dr Kizzy has helped me with my Hashimotos, hormone issues, stress and anxiety. Dr Kizzy is very thorough , she has explained all my labs in a concise and clear manor. The results made perfect sense with my symptoms.
She takes her time, most import she does not make you feel like she is rushing through the appointment.
She is a very sweet lady, a knowledgeable, competent and personable doctor. I highly recommend Dr Kizzy.

I have just started working with Dr. Kizzy and am so glad I found her. Above all, she has a great attitude and truly believes in treating patients vs. just merely prescribing medications at CVS. She looks at root cause and how body functions work together for holistic health. After seeing many doctors that just want to prescribe levothyroxine for hypothyroidism and I was having bad side effects from the medication, I knew I wanted to see a ND and get a different approach to my health. All other doctors would shut down any attempts of me asking if there’s a way to treat my thyroid and tell me there’s no cure. Dr. Kizzy never made me feel that way and believes that anything is possible with the right mindset and treatments. I also love that she believes patients instead of making them feel dumb for bringing up symptoms because they are not “related” when everything in the body is related and works together. She truly cares about listening to patients and works with you and your lifestyle to make changes. She inspires patients with if there’s a will there’s a way.

My gratitude for Dr. Kizzy is overwhelming. I came to her at 18 with a new diagnosis of Hashimoto’s Disease. I could not eat, had no energy, and was falling into depression - even on conventional treatment. Dr. Kizzy sat with me for 2 hours our first appointment learning all about me, my mental, social, personal, and medical health before beginning to create a treatment plan. In doing so, she ensured that ALL of me was being treated and not just my disease. Within 6 months I was exercising twice per day, I ate three meals and snacks without getting sick, and I was full of energy. I was LIVING again! (Not to mention, my antibody levels dropped over 75% and my thyroid hormone levels were normal again - without conventional hormones). It has since been 7 years and she has helped me through lymphadenopathy, hormone balancing to conceive, pregnancy, postpartum thyroiditis (complication of pregnancy), pancreatitis, cholecystitis, and subsequent, severe epigastric pain. More than anything, I know that Dr. Kizzy truly cares about her patients and works with them until their goals are achieved - she never gives up and always believes there’s an alternative if the present treatment isn’t working! Dr. Kizzy has literally given me my life back.

I have been extremely pleased with my experience with Dr. Kizzy Rafael. My primary care physician could only offer injections or knee replacements, so I decided to work with Dr. Kizzy, upon a friend’s recommendation. I found her to be extremely knowledgeable, in both Western and Naturopathic care. She is compassionate and really cares for her patients. Through blood tests, she discovered the root of my health issues, and has worked diligently to solve them. Today I am pain free, my immune system is in recovery, I have lost weight, and I am feeling better than I have for years. My care is a perfect blending of these two specialties.
