Very poor and disrespectful experience A woman born in 1944 (81 years old), who is recovering from a stroke and can barely walk, came to this location for a scheduled pedicure appointment. The appointment was scheduled for December 10 at 11:00 AM at 300 South Jackson Street. She arrived on time. However, when she got there, the staff told her that she “didn’t have an appointment” and started sending her from one room to another (room 400, then 310, etc.). She was forced to walk back and forth despite her serious medical condition. When we started calling the reception desk to clarify what was going on, each employee gave different and conflicting information. One said the appointment was canceled, another said it was at 01:15, then again said it was at 11:00. At one point, they even claimed the appointment had been canceled back in November — which is absolutely not true and was never done by us. This was extremely stressful and disrespectful, especially toward an elderly woman after a stroke. She was exhausted and confused, and in the end, nothing was resolved. This hospital’s reception staff provides false information, lacks coordination, and shows no care for patients with disabilities. Every operator says something different. Completely unacceptable. They don't even deserve one star.

Avoid Dr. Heugel if you can regarding fractures/breaks. I left my first appointment with her very uncomfortable and felt like I had been reprimanded by a Doctor for 20 minutes. She didn't even go over my x-rays with me or examine my foot. It was very bizarre. This led me to get a second opinion after 2 weeks and i'm glad I did. My new doctor was super kind, caring, attentive and spent an hour with me going over all the details of my injury, recovery timeline, what is on/off limits, etc. It was a completely different experience than what I had with Dr. Heugel regarding my 5th metatarsal fracture. To be really honest, my new doctor told me she is getting multiple patients coming to her from this practice due to the same experience I had so felt like I should warn other patients & hope this feedback finds Dr. Heugel so she can adjust her approach.

Excellent experience from start to finish. I was scheduled promptly, paperwork was a breeze and I was seen quickly. Most importantly Dr. Linsy Allen's diagnosis of my injury was immediate and expert, and explained what I needed to know and put my mind to rest. She understood my concerns, talked through the prognosis and gave me treatment options (immobilization) to aid my comfort and healing, and offered follow ups as necessary. All in all, the staff were caring and highly professional from the medical assistant (Cathy) to the front desk staff (Sydney.) I would recommend this office and Podiatry Associates to anyone who asked.
