I’ve had a challenging experience managing my care with Dr. Callens. Unfortunately, communication has been a recurring issue. Many of my phone calls went unanswered, often going straight to voicemail. On a few occasions, I would receive an email follow-up after leaving a message, but phone calls were never returned, which felt impersonal. I later learned that her receptionist was on maternity leave, and while I can understand the challenges that may bring, there were too many instances where follow-ups and tasks were missed. For example, I had to frequently remind her to submit lab requisitions or confirm appointments that hadn’t been properly scheduled. The main reason I initially contacted her was for food sensitivity testing, which I never got done. It turned out other tests had been submitted initially. By the time she sent me the information for the food sensitivity tests, I learned the lab didn't bill insurance companies which caused additional time and costs that I was unwilling to pay. While I didn’t expect this to be free, having upfront transparency about costs and processes would have been very helpful. Additionally, during one of our first calls, she mentioned assisting with weight loss but only provided a generalized food list. There was no personalized help and I was referred to a nutritionist instead. Dr. Callens is nice, and I appreciate her efforts in certain areas, but the lack of organization and clear communication made the process more stressful than it needed to be. I felt like I was a "project managing" the doctor. I hope these aspects can be improved to better support future patients and justify her rates.

Dr. Callens has truly changed my health for the better. She’s compassionate, knowledgeable, and gets to the root cause—not just the symptoms. I’ve seen real improvements in my energy, mood, and cycle. Highly recommend her for personalized, natural women’s care.

Dr Callens was a literal "fresh breath of air" in helping me understand the ongoing issues I had with feeling lethargic. She was professional, knowledgeable, patient and asked questions beyond what I've been accustomed to in prior medical visits to get to the "why". Her subsequent follow ups were handled in a timely manner as well.
