About this clinic
Scott Faucett, MD, an orthopaedic surgeon in Washington, DC, specializes in regenerative medicine for musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries. The practice offers platelet-rich plasma therapy and stem-cell therapy for joint conditions, tendinopathy, and soft-tissue damage, alongside conventional orthopaedic care for the hip, knee, ankle, and shoulder. Treatment is individualized following clinical evaluation, with regenerative modalities selected based on injury type and tissue-healing goals. The practice serves athletes, active adults, and patients with chronic joint pain who wish to explore cell-based and orthobiologic approaches alongside or instead of surgery. Pediatric orthopaedic care is also available.
I had two unsuccessful surgeries with Dr. Faucett: the second left me unable to walk.
I found Dr Faucett and the PT at GWU with whom he compiled the Hip Preservation program to both be dismissive of my pain and complaints after the second surgery that left me cripple. Dr Faucett was even dismissive of the post op MRI results.
After telling me for months that I would be better in a month or two, Dr. Faucett finally yielded to the pathologist’s finding and declared I now needed a total hip replacement.
I got a second and third opinion – which I wish I had done before the second surgery – and ultimately did my hip replacement with another surgeon. The before and after care at Anderson Orthopedic were far superior.
If you are told you need a labrum replacement, make sure to ask what the success rates and seek second opinions. I think I could have skipped that surgery entirely and just had a replacement, which would have spared me a year of misery.

Dr. Faucett performed total hip replacement surgeries on both my Left and Right Hips in the past 10 months. Prior to the procedures, I could not walk due to the intense arthritic pain in both of my hips. I was very active prior to my arthritic hip pain and now after the surgeries, I am able to work out again at the same 6 days /week 100% intensity level. I have not had 1 second of pain or discomfort! Not only is Dr. Faucett an amazing orthopaedic surgeon but his entire team (Surgery Scheduler, Pre Op, Post Op, Surgery Team, Office Staff) are friendly, professional and thorough. I am about to turn 60 and would like to thank Dr. Faucett and his assistant Rae for making me feel like I’m 20 again!

Dr. Faucett was the third surgeon I saw to make a decision about a total hip replacement surgery. I was in absolutely miserable pain. My life was completely disrupted by it. I honestly wish Dr. Faucett had been the first surgeon I visited. He was very thorough in discussing the studies I brought to my appointment, and also ordered a couple of extra x-Rays of specific angles he wanted to see. He answered all my questions without trying to sugar-coat anything, and his bedside manner is great (he’s very calm, kind, respectful and a straight shooter). I knew right there he was the best surgeon for my needs. He chose to do my surgery at a major hospital, due to my underlying health conditions, even thought this procedure is seen nowadays as an outpatient one. To my surprise and excitement, Dr. Faucett was about 1 hr+ ahead of schedule. I did end up having to spend one night at the hospital, and next morning, his awesome PA, Maggie Shae, and one of his residents came in to check on me, as also did Dr Faucett himself, to make sure everything was going well. On the initial days post-op I emailed him and his team a few questions, and received responses in just a few hours, sometimes even less. That was extremely reassuring. I am now 4 weeks post-op and couldn’t be happier with how great I’m feeling and recovering. I’m pain free, doing physical therapy and resumed a fully normal life. Dr Faucett gave me back the chance to resume an active lifestyle. He’s one of the best physicians I’ve ever met, and trust me, I have seen one too many in my lifetime.

Absolutely Top Notch. I have been an athlete my whole life and certainly seen my fair share of Surgeons and Orthopedists. Dr. Faucett is raising the bar in sports medicine. The communication and follow-up from him and his team are the best I have ever experienced. No more waiting days or weeks to hear back about follow-up questions and his office space is wonderful.
Dr. Faucett is a great surgeon and all around good person. He repaired my detached labrum and most recently helped me with a total knee replacement. I was ahead of the curve and throughout the entire process. He remains my point of contact for all related issues. I cannot recommend another Orthopedist more for Hip or Knee related issues. A++

Dr. Faucett and his team are the best! My recent meniscus repair surgery went extremely well. Dr. Faucett and his team are very efficient in the planning of the surgery to ensure that I had everything needed for the best outcome possible. It was easy to communicate with him and his team and he is very responsive. I was able to stop taking pain medicine the day after surgery and I am recovering well.
